Yeah, every since WW2 England has been from one problem to another! Their people just got on with life and their government doesn't have the people worked up in a ever downward spiral of fear like others.....
From the 70s to the mid 90s they had the IRA bombing everything.... events like Hillsbrough and the train crashs.... poms i think are the best for dealing with this type of thing!
Spain is another one that has to deal with this kind of thing alot!.... we(Aus, America, NZ) don't know how lucky we are!!!!

Whats the dif between someone leaving a bomb in a bag, blowing up a pub, or walking into said pub with a bomb round their chest and blowing themselves up! Both will kill just as many people!

Well i don't think I'm going to be able to avoid it much longer. My wife bought "The Notebook" Yesterday, and I think this means at some point she's going to want a cuddle night on the couch with us, popcorn, and the girly movie. Now the popcorn and cuddle time...I'm all over that. I love a good moive night, but not so much with the chick flicks. I do suppose I'll watch it though since not long ago she sat down and watched Eon Flux with me.

I'm sort of undecided. I don't care much for Colin Farrell or Jamie Fox. Although Fox was an outstanding Ray Charles...

Memoirs of a Geisha

Two thumbs up for the beautiful costumes and setting. Two thumbs down for the lack of storyline.  They merely glossed over alot which to me left you with really not understanding many things. I found I knew more of what was going on because I'd read the book.  Also, they spent absolutely no time introducing you to the two children before they were taken/sold.  The book lays some groundwork beforehand.

I was a little disappointed in this movie. Though the costumes, settings and dances were stunning.

I actually think it's the opposite Dan. I think it takes more of a man to admit that he's a softy, and that he knows it than to be all macho...(hey Chia) and say that I'll never watch anything like that. I don't mind a good movie that can make you cry, but I just don't get into the really girly girl ones. Like another of my all time favorite movies is "On Golden Pond". It was a spectacular story, and was very good. I think the only Chick Flick that really has gotten me to like it was  "Beaches"..And I think the reason I like it so much is the story of friendship, and the love for one person to another. Nothing really about the girly stuff that matters to me in that movie.

I always winder about all these "chick" flicks because there's always a guy in it .. I mean, of course there's a guy ..but ....

ANYWAY, I always wonder if guys are adament about not wanting to see these "chick" flicks how they guys that act on them wind up there? Like I wonder if Matthew Mc whatever says, I'm on a chick flick! How did that happen?

Man, it's crappy movie time again! The box office stats for the weekend are pretty sad. Number one being The Covenant bringing in 8.85 million followed by Hollywoodland bringing in 5.93 million!? Ouch.

On a good note... POTC 2 made it to the #6 All time USA and Non-USA box office! AND #3 ALL TIME WORLD BOX OFFICE

Just watched 2 flicks yesterday with the wife.

First "The Ringer" now I was not sure going in if I'd like this due to the fact that I fully expected them to degrade those with disabilities. Oh how wrong I was. I'm shocked at just how great of a light ended up being shined on the special people in this movie. And not 1 person of the "Special" characters was played by someone that wasn't really disabled. They all were awsome, and it was so fun to watch. Funny parts throughout it, and the sweet side of these people was the highlight. I've worked with people with many disabilities for many years, and I have to say I could see many of the people I worked with being in this movie.

I'm giving this movie a very big

Next I watched "The Island" with Ewan McGregor, and Scarlett Johansson. I was expecting a basic sci-fi..action flick without much thought. Again 2 in one day...I was wrong. I thought it was well done, and thought out the story from begining to end. Not as much action as I'm used to, but it was enough to keep you interested while the story continued.

I'll give it Very Solid, but glad I waited for the DVD.

Yeah i watched that last weekend, it was alot different to how i thought it would be, Ewan McGregor is one of my Fav Actors and was again very good in this film!
Only problem i found was it was far to much like Logans Run...

I'm not looking forward to the dismal fall movie season.  Nothing that I really am dying to see until December and even then I'm not sure if I'll see that movie because I'm worried at how they're going to treat the novel it's taken from.

Dan I agree on the Logans Run analogy with "The Island" it seems to pull from it a bit.

Paints what movie is it that you are thinking about for Dec?

Well watched the "Transporter 2" tonight. I liked it for the most part. It was left open for another, but I had issues with some of the stunts. Stunts should be made to look possible, and real...to many in this film were done to make it flashy.
