For anyone who's never seen ... here's a Torah scroll. The first two pics are from one of the services. The Saturday morning Shabbat service. They open the scrolls and then someone reads from them. If you're really really good you can actually sing the portion, and that's what they were doing here. The portion read is actually called the Parsha.
