RE: American Idol 2008

Like Aisha told me, he's just not a competitive person. He kind of gave up.

Dreadlocke Boy was just an embarrassment at the end and shoud have been voted out several slots ago.

Didya notice when someone was leaving the remaining folks would clap vigorously and he just sort of moved his hands together?

Didya notice that one time when he was back stage waiting his turn on stage and was caught yawning?

Didya hear say he was having trouble learning the songs?

Didya notice in the last two shows that his voice was not nearly as strong as any of the others?

Didya see that Ace Young was just on "Bones" and got killed in the first 5 minutes?

Ace was on a previous season of Idol. Now he gets a 3 minute shot on Bones before getting caught in some kind of mower and ground up. Bones: "Anyone see a head anywhere?"

EEsh ...

Okay so, I admit it ... although I have never been a fan of the song, David Cook brought tears to my eyes. When Simon announced David was doing The First Time Ever I Saw Your face, I said .... OMG is Simon insane??? And yet, David was completely magical. floating.gif

I voted for an hour ... I don't know how many votes that is. I  tossed a few Sayesha's way only because I  want Archeletta gone. Yea, he's got a beautiful voice, but hardly a stage presence at all. The whole time he was singing the last song I was yelling .... put some feeling and expressing in the song man!!! You're supposed to be so in love .... you should be glowing and yet, you're squinting!!!

Ick! Then he finishes the song and puts on this beaming smile ... where the heck was it when he was singing the song????

I liked Sayesha this week better than I have before. BUT, she really doesn't have any definition. David Cook can go straight from the show and rock it out in the studio and on tour right away with no problem.

it was so beautiful, even me and Des were crying smile7gz6.png

I froze when David said what song he picked, it's one of my favorite songs and he did really good heart.gif

There's been a lot of fires in Florida and the air is very smoky too. But that as very stressful waiting for Ryan to finish.

Wait ... you guys thought there was a chance DC wouldn't be in the top two???

Next week is the week to sweat. Archuletta fans are enormous and they could vote him through, but the odds are for DC all the way. Arcguletta sis just not marketable at this point. IMO

So what did you think of the Fantasia performance?

I never liked her and I have to say that her horrid performance more than confirmed my opinion. Did you see that look on Simon's face? Priceless.

I love Fantasia! Always have!
Here's one take.

Former "Idol" Fantasia Barrino still looks like a winner

fantasiaonidol.jpg

Fantasia Barrino made her return to "American Idol" on Wednesday night and really stole the show with her new song "Bore Me."

It was almost like Fantasia was channeling James Brown, but she really burned it up. After a long very successful run on Broadway in "The Color Purple," Barrino told "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest that she was diving back into her music career.

"I'm working on an album right now and getting ready to go back on tour," Barrino told "Idol" host Seacrest. "I miss my music."

After Fantasia's performance was over, the cameras panned to the "American Idol" judges and Simon Cowell chin was hitting the desk. I'm not sure if Simon was bored, shocked or disappointed. He has a strange way of sending out horrible mixed messages, so I'm not sure if he liked Fantasia's "Idol" return or hated it.

Fantasia is still one of my favorite "American Idol."

Here's another.

Fantasia 2: The Fantasianing

On last night's splendiferous, Sayesha-ejecting American Idol
results show - like nasty walnut chunks in maple ice cream, she was
utterly ruining our pure, David-savoring experience - third season Idol
winner Fantasia Barrino stopped by the Karoakedome to perform. And yet
"perform" seems not quite the sufficient term in this instance - rather,
she seemed literally belched from some fiery, subterranean afterworld
miles beneath CBS Television City, accompanied by a chorus of winged
backup-demons. The audience - many of whom were still enjoying the
pleasant, torpor-inducing effects of David Archuleta singing about "fishes in the ocean"
- reacted as though they had just been smacked against the side of the head with a hooker's club foot.

Anarchy soon broke out in the relative peace-loving community of the arm-swaying pit, as all attempts at enacting their primary, limb-waving duties were rendered instantly futile by the tuneless, arrhythmic morass. It wasn't long before severed limbs were spotted flying into the bleachers; the sight of several freshly gimped Pepperdine sorority girls running screaming for the exits was the last home viewers glimpsed of the carnage before stage manager Debbie frantically waved towards the control booth to cut to commercial.

"You are one of the nicest, most sincere contestants we've had."

I don't remember anything else they said though

they sang three songs, David Cook sang "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" "Dream big" and "The world I know"

Simon is right. I am so glad he said that after the night he accused David of bing a little pompous. That was the night he came out in the white jacket and he put his palm up cause he'd written "Give Back". Simon just pounced on him and then Paula made sure to point out what he'd written on his palm and then Simon said, "Oh well that was a nice thing to do."
