Well in season 3 I think we first will get to see the confrontation between himself and Sawyer at some point. Also we will get to learn more of how he came to be over in Iraq when he did. I think that we'll find out that he wasn't part of the regular military. He was working for a higher level of the Govt. at the time. That will be how he had knowledge of Sayid that could be passed along.
