I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."

But I know you've had a fling with Sayid before...you told me he reminded you of yourself..dark..handsome...and a bit greasy
I am soooooooo seeing things ..... I got so caught up inthinking about how cute Des is that I almost mistook your banner for Kate and Des instead of Sawyer ...

Season 3 for the Des should be interesting. After the events of the final epi is he going to maintain his sober ways or is back to the Dharma wine, and sulking around? I'm going with the idea that he along with Locke, and Eko are going to be a trio to be reconed with. They together could be the group that searches out, finds, and deals with the "Others". I also believe they will find another of the unfound hatches, and discover that they have a way to still push the button. Or they could find more clues to the idea that it's all a game, and they have been pawns in this since the begining. In all I think by the end we'll get to see what all transpired to put him in prison, and also how his boat actually helped keep him in the area of the island.

we will definitely see moe of the des/penny relationship this season.. and that may be a big key as to rescue/continuation of living on the island... penny may just chose to become a part of the LOSTies rather than remain with daddy... des will become important to the story and he will be around hopefully for along time... i too think he will join locke and eko inn the spiritual quests of the island... plus bring some of the practicallity to this... a bridge between faith and science...
I was re-watching "Adrift" again the other night. I was shocked to find that Fenry was in fact NOT the first one to mention "HIM". Instead it was Des when he was asking Locke...."Are you HIM??? Seems a bit to meaningfull for it to be just asking about his replacement.
Did Inman ask Des if he was HIM or did he just ask him the snowman question?
Lady, that's interesting that you say Penny would become one of the LOSTies. Do you mean she will stay with Des on the island?
I think HIC is such a find. What a great actor. And he's pretty hot...

yes... i think if penny found the island and attempted a rescue and got stuck.. or had the choice to stay... she would stay with des.... her soulmate...

OK...need to bring this one back to life. I think he's going to play a large part in the next section of season 3. I'm almost seeing him turning into the EKO of the show now. His powers will test not only his faith in himself, but also of the people around him. His power is going to also end up leading the losties to learn more about what was/is happening on the island, and maybe even why they want the children. What he does with this is going to be interesting also. As the old addage says..."With great power comes great responsability"... so will he continue to use this power to help others and not just himself? Or could he forsee Pen coming, and start using it to forward his getting off the island to be with her?

i do hope they keep des around until the story ends!!! and that he and penny are re-united! it's is such a great love story! he is the shaman now... locke may just be his guide... together they will reunite the group... but for what purpose? we have two groups of people who don't like each other... des and inman always refered to them others as 'the hostiles'... are they? will des do something that will also bring them back on track and striving for their original goal?
des and penney, i think, still remain the key to the island, getting home and the others lifestyle...
Why did Penny's dad call Des a coward? What did he do or not do? He says he is running toward getting back his honor. Did he lose a brother? Or did Penny have a brother?

Now that we know Desmond went sorta back in time, do you think his comment to Jack in the stadium "See you in another life brotha" was intentional? Did he know that's where they'd both end up?
Personally, I think Desmond's reliving part of his life was one of the finest parts of the show. It was so intense
He also said it when he tried to leave the island on his boat. I hope they'll be showing a lot more of the Desmond & Penny story.
JACK: Stop.
DESMOND: Oh, right. The code, yeah?
JACK: What?
DESMOND: Listen carefully. If by some miracle you manage to get the computer working again you've got to enter the code: 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42, hit execute. Again: 4, 8, 15...
JACK: Shut up!
DESMOND: Sorry?
JACK: Nothing is going to happen. Some man takes you down there, shows you a movie, and you push a button on, on faith alone? Nothing is going to happen!
DESMOND: In about 15 minutes you're either going to be very right, or very wrong, brother. You want to shoot me? Shoot me. but I'm not...
JACK: Why are you running? You don't even know what you're running from?
DESMOND: I remember you -- running -- I know you -- I met you -- Los Angeles. I was training, yeah? You twisted your ankle...
JACK: Stop.
DESMOND: You're a doctor, right? There was this girl -- you were worried -- you said, you said you failed her. That was you.
JACK: It doesn't matter.
DESMOND: Was she okay, the girl?
JACK: It doesn't matter.
DESMOND: What happened to her?
JACK: It doesn't matter.
DESMOND: How can you say it doesn't matter?
JACK: I married her! [Jack breaks down crying.]
DESMOND: Right, and you're not married to her anymore, then?
[Jack lowers his gun. Desmond goes back to get his pack.]
