I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
this article brings up so many ideas and responses and it may take the rest of the summmer to respond...
first tho... locke.. interesting summary of him... 'locke's real world life was mundane...' 'he needs to be the hero... he needs to be jack...' yet, it says, he is emotionally unstable... the article then goes into who was taken and why... put these two together and , perhaps jack was taken to give locke a chance to lead and build his own self esteem... the instability that he has... but has he been crushed in the hatch??? is this crush physical or emotional?? can he pull hiomself together... can he accept the help from any one else to help him put himself together (the way he did with helen...) will the help come from eko? henry? jack??? or some other unexpected person???..like sun or claire, perhaps.... once this correction is made, what will be the relapse?? and rebuilding... because, if anything, this show shows how people build, fall and rebuild their life.... locke's development is most interesting to me...
As far as Lockes goes I'd like to think that some connection with a lady would happen. I think we still need that next FB epi to bring things together with him. Find out why he was paralyzed. Then we can maybe see if it was something self destructive or someone going after him. If it was self destructive it's hard to think he'd get better.

... a theory to go with this in brother's karamasov... perhaps locke's dad and helen... the rivalry between father and son for a woman's attention.....

I have thought for a long time that Locke's "dad" was after Helen, and after she sort of "followed" him out from the hotel...hhhMMMMmmm...And did Locke do something to piss him off after that. Making him use his power to have somebody take locke out or at least down a level? I still think that Locke's dad is the "real Sawyer" also.

we could start a whole section on locke's dad and who he is... is he connected to hanso?? widmore?? paik??? or even jack's dad???
he certainly had an effect on locke's development and demeanor... locke's lack of self esteem... and helen helped him to build his humility and let go of his fears and anger.... helen's leaving... helen's betrayal of him... how does this effect someone???

Feel free to start one up for him. I'd say throw it in the character area. I'm looking at jumping into all those threads soon to start throwing out some "what's next for" type things in all of them. Keep some LOST convo going in here through these slow sour months.
