I guess I'll start an Ugly Betty thread too. This is another show that has unexpected storylines and arcs. I'll think the story is going in one direction and then it completely turns around and ends up totally different and surprising. Also, you think you have the characters figured out and that they are all fake and stuck-up but then they show you a little glimpse that tells you otherwise.
I don't know where they are going with Lucy Liu's character, but usually there is more to the story. Hopefully it's got a good twist as usual!
is it me or did justin become a little more over the top? like at first he was just a little er...(i know the word i want to use but i have NO idea how to spell it so im going to use an alternate that is not really what i mean)...girly? and now he is singing hairspray on the subway. thats ok though. good kid. and i liked that marc has a soul even though he swears he doesnt. i like that he told justin to be himself. i thought that was pretty cool. hilda is probably my least fave although i do think shes a good mother to justin.
and i thought it was friggen hilarous when walter was doing the dance dance revolution!

Yeah I think Justin's character can be a bit forced at times. And Marc... that's the thing I like about the show is that even though a few characters come across as very fake, you see that deep down they really aren't and that a lot of it is a facade.
Don't cry, IR. Things will work out in the end. I thought that was pretty chicken of them to do things that way. I did like how sweet Daniel was in this episode. I think the accident really shook him and made him start to see what's important and what isn't.

Thanks Paints! I had a feeling it was going to end up that way, but it still made me so sad and emotional! I agree, Daniel was really sweet. I really like the friendship that has been developing between him and Betty.
I liked tonight's episode. I feel like Justin's storyline is a bit contrived, but I can understand why they're doing what they're doing with it. Poor Betty. Will we see Victor Garber more in future episodes? I loved the whole thumbs up and fake smile thing with Daniel.

Yeah I didn't like the whole storyline with Charlie and the baby. Henry was a sweet guy but maybe too sweet and controlled by Charlie. I like Gio because he's pretending not to be sweet and caring, but he really is!
Oh I know. I totally disliked Charlie in this series. (But you like the actress in a character with the same name in Heroes. Go figure.) I hope that the second season comes out on DVD soon because I didn't see every episode and I really want to see some of the ones they've referenced in the "previously on" segments in regards to the Gio storyline. I also really liked in this last episode when Justin went up to his gym teacher and said that his mom wanted know if he liked her and the coach says "What is this, junior high?" and Justin just says "Yeah, actually, it is." I think I'm liking this storyline they've given Hilda.

I am hoping the storyline for Hilda and the coach turns out to be a sweet one. I hope he'll be a really good guy and not turn out to be a jerk or anything.

Same here. She deserves something good to happen to her at this point.

I can tell you that Ugly Betty is taking the Henry-Betty-Gio triangle down to the wire. One of the boys proposes in the finale, and the other one invites her to travel with him. In true TV fashion, at the end of the episode, we have no idea whom she leaves with, and we'll have to wait until next season to find out. Also, big stuff coming for Daniel in the UB finale. He'll lose something very important to him, and in a cosmic, karmic exchange, rediscover a part of his life he never knew he had.
The following contains nothing but spoilers for the finale so don't read if you don't want to know yet.
Spoiler
I wish Wilhelmina would just go away. Her constinual attempts at taking over Mode are just so boring now. She bugs more than she delights and I fast forwarded through her storyline. You know Betty goes to Rome. If she moved to Tucson there would be no show because she'd be gone and whatever. I much prefer Gio over Henry, especially with everything that Henry put her through. I'll watch the season finale to confirm this, but whatever. I wish they could just once give Hilda a happy storyline. Then again, she's a character who just brings most everything on herself. I mean, going and kissing the coach after he told her that he's married. Come on. She's just setting herself up for disaster and well, she deserves better.

And I love Daniel. When he told Betty he thought she should go to Rome because he couldn't stand being at Mode without her. And the all-expense paid trip! He can be a real trip sometimes but then he gets all mushy and sweet and you forgive him.

I agree about Wilhelmina, they've got to come up with something more interesting for her. I was thinking that maybe Betty doesn't go with either of them and just decides to go somewhere by herself. I do prefer Gio though. I knew something was going to be wrong with the coach! Why do they have to do that?

Yes, that was very sweet! I don't know what's going on with his mom and sister forcing him out of Mode though... I thought they realized that was his passion.

I don't know that it was so much his mom as his sister forcing him out. I was under the impression that Mrs. Meade really didn't want to see Wilhelmina coming back with such force and power. You're probably right about Betty going somewhere on her own and forgetting about going to Rome or to Tucson. I'm still rooting for Gio to win out in the end, though.

I don't know why they feel that every perfect seeming guy has to be married and cheating on his wife, or in a relationship and cheating on their partner.

Oh ok. I think I need to watch the episode again actually. My friend kept talking and I missed a few things.
I agree, I'm rooting for Gio too. It's funny, my friend said he thought Gio was kind of a jerk. I think Gio compliments Betty though. They are cute together.
