Actress Nayo Wallace has been cast opposite 'Lost' star Matthew Fox in 'Speed Racer', the new film from 'The Matrix' makers The Wachowski brothers.
'Speed Racer' is a live-action version of the 1960s cartoon of the same name; 'Alpha Dog' star Emile Hirsch will play the title role of the young, glory-seeking racecar driver with Fox set to play his mysterious rival, Racer X.
The only way for Speed to save his familys business and the sport he loves is to beat Royalton at his own game. With the support of his family and his loyal girlfriend, Trixie (Christina Ricci), Speed teams with his one-time rivalthe mysterious Racer X (Matthew Fox)to win the race that had taken his brothers life: the death-defying, cross-country rally known as The Crucible.
Variety says that Wallace, whose credits include 'Sleeper Cell' and 'The District', will play Racer X's girlfriend, Minx.
Speed Racer is already filming in Germany. Wallace will join Emile Hirsch, Christina Ricci, Matthew Fox and Susan Sarandon.
This cast is getting better all the time. I'm really getting more an more into this movie as time goes on. Plus I'm a big Speed Racer nerd from back in the day. So it's cool to see this being made.
