I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."

I felt the same way about the last cat I inhereted. I rescued her from a roof and she wasn't even a year old, still kind of a kitten herself. I started feeding her because well, you rescue a cat from the roof and you can't just leave it there especially when you see it's so thin. But when she started gainging weight I realized part of the weight wasn't from the food! Plus you always know when the little kittie boobies start enlarging. So, I called around but all the animal people wanted was to abort the babies and fix her and pretty much called me negligent because *I* didn't want to do that. There was a storm brewing out there in the gulf and what if it hit ? Would *I* take her into *MY* home ? Well, *I* did!!! And she had four fluffy little beautiful kittens who were loved on from the day they were born. Four little orange tabby boys and one little grey tabby girl and I took them to the pet store when they were eight weeks. The people there were happy to take them, get their shots and stuff and they literally flew out of the store. Why? Because I had handled them so much they begged for attention from the people when they passed by their cages, sticking their paws out at them and doing anything to get their attention.
Lion: I live in an apartment complex and people dump their cats when they move. I have two more cats than I'm allowed because of this. Then this 4th cat had kittens on 4/25, so i took her and her babies in, got them their shots, etc....
The 4 kitties had homes, then one new owner decided she was 'moving' and would i take the two she took back. Of course I would! So I got in touch with a rescue group and those two were adopted within two weeks. :D When all the kitties were gone, the mother cried and cried, and I just couldn't handle it, so I made the mistake of letting her outside, and she immediately got pregnant... She's a calico and I know her kitties will be adorable. I'm trying to con my parents into fostering them because I can't handle 8 cats in an 800 square foot apartment.
I just hate putting that burden on the rescue group because they pay for the 'fixing', but they do get an adoption fee that covers it... they're gonna be mad at me when i show up with more..
