Well i'm reading the books myself for the very first time and loving every second of them!!! I'm not much a reader, not out of hatred for it or anything just out of never getting around to actually reading that much.... but these books are 100% gripping me, i can't put them down!! I've just finished yesterday the Chambers of Secrets. I'd def say to anyone who's not read them and doesn't know whether you will or not, just do it.... they're brilliant!!!
Now you're getting into the better part, where you haven't seen the films. I will admit, the fifth book was the hardest for me to read because it is so long and I agree with Jo Rowling when she said that if she could she would go back and re-edit Order of the Phoenix to tighten it up and make the book a wee bit shorter.

I actually seriously regret now that i watched the movies first... even though i hadn't even seen or read anything of Potter 3 months ago, i wish now i could back and tell myself the proper order things should be done!!haha Oh well, your right though... it is massive, but a large part of me LOVES that... i'm so addicted now that the more the better!!
That's true. Her next two books were edited more tightly, though they were still lengthy, and for me that made reading them more enjoyable. (That and the sheer fact that when book 7 came out it was the finale, the coming-of-age, the end-all-be-all of Harry Potter.) I devoured the books as they came out once I got into the series. My mom bought me the first for Christmas one year and I bought the next two immediately because I was hooked. The books are always better than the movies, which is why I feel sorry for you that you read the books after seeing the films.

Thats life i guess, after so many years of making so much fun at harry potter and having no desire to ever see or read them i'm relatively happy to have actually discovered them!! For the last month or so i've been very keen to get up to the 5th and get stuck in... i know one or two things that happen in the closing 3 books but nothing earth breaking, cos i knew nothing of them 2-3 months ago i didn't understand the spoilers i was reading... so it didn't make a difference!!
Haha, i forgot to update here.... finished the 7th and final book acouple of weeks ago now!!! Brilliant.. honestly beyond words, filled all my hopes for it plus more!!!!!!
