Ah, well, it's based on Spiderman. It's really more of one intended to be a bit of a romance, but of course there's drama and meaning ... as usual.
Harry hires a sweet, but seemingly shy girl as a maid/housekeeper and so the story goes on with her seeing him go through his bitterness and junk about his father. She takes care of himin he and Peters last fight where the side of the wall explodes leaving his face scarred. The two get together the night Peter comes by to ask for his help to save Mary Jane.
She and Harry talk and he notes that she doesn't seem to be repelled by his disfigurement and that she doesn't turn her eyes or anything. So, she puts her hand on his face, and then of course they smooch, but he glances in the mirror and sees that his face is normal now. He is amazed that she was able to heal him, but she says ... It wasn't your face, but your heart that was scarred .. and noone could heal that but you.
So, then he goes to help Peter and dies.
The story stays the same ... which is kind of what I like to do.
I guess watching the third part it hit me that Harry really needed someone to love him unconditionally at least once in his life. And thought he had the freindship of both MJ and peter, he never had that type of love. I just thoguht it'd be cool for him to experience that before he went off to die. Someone who loved him not because he was rich or powerful, and beyond the ugliness.
It could actually be the stepladder to an original fiction. A sort of modern day beauty and the beast story.
You'd think that she would heal him before they kiss, but I want her to afterwards. In that way it strengthens the idea that she loves him in spite of the scars. That she sees who he truly is.
That wouls seem a much deeper and better way to do it. Unless you want to keep stringing it on a bit, and have Harry still question her love.
Well, no because it's going to be very bittersweet. They will finally profess their feelings, and then she will heal the scars on his face and then he goes out to help Peter and dies.
So, I'm watching the patchy eppy where Kate and Sayid throw down on him and I cannot watch this one part wihout laughing my head off now. " Not every Nook and Cranny John. " I cannot watch it the same way ever now! LOL!!
I will say this, I realize now that I took the scene with the cat clawing at the carpet differently than what I see now. I thought he was thinking about that woman he tortured, but I realize ... the carpet was hiding the door to the basement. When he stares at the cat clawing the carpet, he's discovering the hidden door and I think Mikhail already knows it before he ever serves them the tea.
