I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."

This man, who smiled down on her wryly, under a mane of brown hair, slicked back from his face, peered out with dark brown eyes. Eyes that knew she was there, staring back at him. She might later convince herself that it was mere lighting or the creepy ambiance of a large and mostly deserted mansion, but for the moment, the air was cold and the room emptier than just the absence of another person, and her hair was standing on end all along her arms.
Then she lost her breath. She was certain shed heard a whisper. A soft, but disconcerting murmur, so faint that it was actually less than a whisper. A feeling on the verge of being audible. She wrenched around and gasped.
I can really see this turning intoan original and making it more than just some kind of romance thing. Think, there's this brooding guy living in his family mansion, haunted by his dead father. The father torments him.
He sinks further and further into darkness and this woman comes to work in the mansion. All kinds of stuff happens and in the end, she winds up having him confront the stuff from his father. Telling him that none of this is real, but that he's creating it all himself, all he needs to do is let it go. Oh, and he's physically disfigured btw ... kinda like Harry.
Sort of a different twist on beauty and the beast.
It was reallt clear in my head earlier, need to make sure I write it down. Oh, another thing that was kinda clear in my head was, you know how we have closet organizers? Does such a thing exist for freezers? Cause if not it would be really cool. LIke when you seperate your chicken into different bags and you don't want to pile it all up and have it buried and you don't find it till 6 years later.
