I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
i'm sneeezly tonite... allergies making my nose run. wish it would walk instead. it was 22 below this morning and the truck didn't start so no church. once it did, it has a little jerk to it that i hope is just due to cold weather...

I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."

I don't have classes tomorrow so that gives me some extra time to do homework. Though I probably should have done more today, or last Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Oh well. C'est la vie.

Lots of reading, lots of writing. My lit theory class we have a short paper due each week and my other lit class (on the uncanny) has a paper due almost every week, a final research paper, and a final exam. The poetry class I have to write 10 poems for a portfolio and submit a poem for publication and one other thing. The ballroom class and the religion classes are the stay grounded and sane classes of my schedule this year. Not so much reading and writing in those classes. (Although reading the scriptures is standard for the religion classes, but I already do that on a daily basis so it's not a stretch.) Oh, for my one lit class (on the uncanny) we have 12 books (only 2 of which are theory readings, the rest are actually novels) to read this semester.

Wuthering Heights, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, A Room of One's Own, David Copperfield, Waiting for Godot, The Turn of the Screw, The Haunting of Hill House, Hamlet, and Lyrical Ballads.

at least some have been read before i am sure!! so it won't be entirely new! that sounds like an intersting course!!! gothic lit almost!
I've read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde before. I tried to read Wuthering Heights but couldn't get into it. I was supposed to read The Turn of the Screw for a class, but I don't do well with ghosts and hauntings so I ended up just reading the spark notes for it. I've read Hamlet a couple of times though. The rest of them, haven't read. (Actually, I think I may have heard Waiting for Godot read out loud.) I'm most looking forward to David Copperfield, but I'll miss class the day we discuss it.

DSG, I saved your banner image to my computer and loaded it onto my photobucket pages. It should show up consistently now. (That was how I knew to fix it so that you could have your banner showing up. Someone else may be able to get it to work for you through whatever link you had it on before.)

thank you.........why do i love the bad guys...doren is so cool.. wuthering heighs wasnt bad eithher
You're welcome. Everyone's got their own taste and they're entitled to it. I don't like angry books and Wuthering Heights just felt so angry and bitter as I was reading it that I didn't want to continue. I didn't feel good as I read it and I don't like not feeling good.

took a class something like that once and the prof also had us watch the movie from the book and do a compare and contrast... written word is always so much better i think!
Book is always better than the film. Some films based on books come really close to being just as good as the book, but they always fall short somehow.

So, I'm looking at the tentative schedule for this conference I'll be presenting at in March and one of my French professors is going to give a paper at it.
