Both poems are interesting paints. The confusion is that you mix modern day terms with archaic language and it break the flow and feel of the poetry. My suggestion is to choose either the archaic or modern, but don't mix the two.
In which version?

Thanks. I'm about to go to bed. I just have been hesitant because I wanted to settle in my mind what I was doing tomorrow. I don't really wanna miss work. I do have sick days but still.
Which version do you guys like better? Which one seems more laced with metaphor and image as opposed to "telling"?
i like the first one better
What's better about the first over the second? (Which is actually the reverse order of the versions. I wrote the second one first then added the last few stanzas about forgiveness at a later date.)

In both. I've noticed it in your poetry in general. When I first read your stuff, it confused me and I couldn't figure out why. Now I reaalize it's because it jumps in and out of for a lack of a better description " time periods. "

What time do you have to go in?
For 9am. And I don't know that I'm going to get a doctors appt. that quickly.
I went to bed at 8pm last night feeling kinf of tired and slept till noon today. I had the sore throat when I woke up. IT's worse now and I have that feverish/achy kind of feeling.
Uh-oh! Are you going to the doctor tomorrow?
I was going to try and get an appt for Thursday since I'm not due for work until 2pm. I work 9-4:30 tomorrow.
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."

Do you have Urgent Care there?
Do your employers encourage people to stay home from work when sick?
I don't know any employers who encourage employees to stay home when sick. As for urgent care, not really. I'd have to fork out 100 bucks. I'd rather go to a family practice. But the thing is, if I go in for 9am, then I won't be able to make an appt for tomorrow if one is available. So, I dunno.

Oh that's too bad. I've had employers before who would tell us they didn't want us coming in sick because they didn't want everyone else to get sick too. Well, maybe you'll feel better in the morning but it would stink for you to have to work when you feel bad!

If I feel this bad still or worse, I'm not going in. I've got chills and I'm achy. I put off swallowing as long as I can.
