I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
i'm going to throw this idea out to you, based on what has happened with hurley in the past episodes:
HURLEY IS BEING USED AS A BEACON FOR JACOB'S POWERS TO BE USED IN THE REST OF THE WORLD. what has hurley's main role been on the island? he has kept people together... he has conveyed information (if you want something to stay a secret, don't tell the fat guy) he was used by the others to tell the story of jack, kate and sawyer. we know he can see jacob and has a link. we know that hurley has a vivid imagination and a conscience. we know that locke knows that hurley has a link to jacob. if jacob needs a link to the outside world to continue his purpose(whatever that may be), hurley would be a good choice. hurley wouldn't be taken seriously becuz of his mental illness history. slowly this drives him insane, making him say and do things so strange that even kate denies him... driving him deeper into depression until he takes his own life... and ends up in the coffin!!!
WOW Ok I hadn't given much thought to anything in thse terms LL, and I must say that's great thinking. I'll have o tumble that around in my mellon a bit before posting a solid reply.
