I've thought of another original story idea as well. It revolves around a watch.
The opening is the watch in a jewelry store being bought by a couple for the wife. Perhaps by the husband who takes the watch as a gift for his wife. Either way, the wtach passes hands though several generations and you witness the lives of the people around it, but that watch is kind of like the main charachter.

i just got done reading the 54th chapter of your story it was very good!!! how you remember everything that has happened many chapters back is amazing!

Ahhhh ... I didn't read this before. Well during the first few chapters, I had no idea what I was doing with it, but once I got a direction, I started writing it to connect with later chapters. So, I kind of set them up to sort of thread through the rest of the story. Then, by tyring to keep far enough behind the show, I can figure out what to do in the future to stay mostly in sync with the show and how to direct the continuity of the chapters as well.
