Well, it seems a tad rushed. Where was Desmond that whole time? Did I miss something? I'll have to watch it again. By focusing on mainly one person each time, it looses it's focus. It's choppy. After waiting all this time, it's a little dispiriting to be pushed along so fast.
I do love Ben more and more though. He is the perfect villain.
Lost is back! Oh, wait, that happened two weeks ago.
What I mean is, Lost will be back-back, after the strike. And even better, we've just checked in with inside sources, and we have dates! Yes, dates! So, break out your calendars, 'cause we're hearing this is the approved plan:
The last episode of the current pod (episode seven) will air Mar. 13. Then the show will be off the air for six weeks and return Apr. 24 at 9 p.m.
(That Apr. 24 episode will be the already-completed episode eight, which was filmed prestrike, but which apparently works much better as a minipremiere than it does as a minifinale.)
Anyhoo, the following week, on Thurs., May 1, a little show called Grey's Anatomy returns to its usual 9 p.m. time slot, so Lost will move to 10 p.m., where it will stay for the rest of the season.
"Yippee" just doesn't do it justice, does it?
To find out what this all means for the season-four story, I checked in with my personal Jesus, Damon Lindelof, who explains how his writing team plans to squish the eight episodes of plot they had planned into only five more episodes.
"We are going to execute our full story plan for season four," D.L. says. "This simply requires a shift from high-octane storytelling to superhigh-octane storytelling. It requires no cramming, only a slightly heavier foot on the gas pedal...so, hold on to your hats. Those of you waiting for the long-anticipated Jin and Hurley Ping-Pong tournament, however, will be very disappointed."
no cramming Yea,right, that's exactly what it is. I'd rather wait. They should make it a miniseries and stretch it out more, instead of rushing it along.
so....why would anyone not be watching if there was no flashforwards......i love the islandes mysterys and why do we need new questions , without any answers
I'm not too crazy about the flashforwards. We'll be getting a couple of flashbacks in episodes 5 and 6 I think. I'm looking forward to those ones.
I think the best FF yet was last weeks. Okay, well, last seasons ending FF was the shocker, but this one was just so well done. They weaved it into the present day island thing, whihc to me still seems like it's not a FF but present and the island is past. UIt gets kinda weird. I mean, in the FF the island is the past and in the island thing the FF is the future and then there's the past before the island ... it's a little messy.
BUT anyway, I think weaving that through Sayid's thing with going to eggtown, seeing Ben and those chilling words ... the day I trust that man is when I'll have sold my soul. Chilling words of foreshadow. Man, good stuff.
I see some liking them and some not liking them. I have to play devils advocate here, and ask this. (for the record I hate them)
Until they started showing the FF's wasn't the mystery of not knowing or wondering who would make it off the island all part of the great mystery? Yes we all wanted to know, but in terms of how I find out i would have rather have had the final season (or two) give me those answers. Now I know who over half of them are (just losties mind you) and i don't like that some of the mystery of the show is gone for me now.
Well yea, but the story in it's entirity isn't about these people who get stranded on this island and how and if and when and who gets off. That part was the setup to the story, now we're getting the story.
Also, even though we know who the Oceanic 6 are, that's not the final story. We still don't know if they are going to end up back on the island or if they are going to be able to rescue anyone else from the island, so I think there is still that mystery.
We also still have more to find out about the island and who Jacob is and who Danielle is, etc. So I think there are going to be some cool FB's to come!
I just feel that it took away fromt he mystery for me. I still love the show, and I know that the main meat of the story was actually starting this year (Good timing with the writers strike huh?) I just think it could have been done a bit differently.;.. not sure how, but the mystery of that part of the show was one of the main things I loved.
I believe the flashforwards are... different. Not neccesarily bad, just different. They make me feel a little uncomfortable because I'm no longer 'lost' on the island with them- I know that some of them are leaving indefinitely and with no knowledge of them returning. It kind of 'ruins the party'. Have you ever had an older sibling that slowly grew apart from the family as they got older (teen years) and suddenly family activities and traditions that they abandoned seemed less "cool"? That's kind of what I feel like.
Original Air Date: 12 October 2005 Disturbing memories from Hurley's past cause him to struggle with a task he's assigned inside the hatch to watch over the food storage locker. Meanwhile Sawyer, Michael and Jin discover the identities of their captors whom are what's left of a group of two dozen Flight 815 survivors from the tail end of the plane led by the tough minded Ana-Lucia Cortez who insists they walk to a more secure location. Claire uncovers a shocking piece of information about the fate of the raft when the message bottled washes ashore.
im like snootch.....i have grow with the losties and it seems so sad that...these flashworwards are not making them better..i guess i wanted them here till 2010 last ep. and they all get saved.....but to me the real world is not a great place...what if they get back and decied to stay....i would defenanly stay.
and hurley may go back ,hes the first one to say they needed to.but kate...now shes cold ...doesnt care [so far] about the ones left behind
Maybe they're just laying the groundwork for the next really awesome episodes
I love the intrigue of the new characters. Well, Daniel anyway. Where's the helicopter? Why are people stuck in the world like Sayid? Why can't they go back? Who was left, or killed?
I don't like change either, but sometimes it gets better.
... it indeed has seemed dumbed down, and is feeling much more like it's pacing and storytelling is made or written by someone who writes for a soap opera. Last year was mainly about relationships, and the storytelling didn't falter, and still followed the feel that LOST has always had. this season I think they worried about loosing too many veiwers due to the long wait, and other shows in the same demographic (IE Heroes, Torchwood, and others) so they decided to "Mainstream" the writing for the masses, and have sort of left some of us fans left wanting ...
YES AND WE KNOW THE ONES THAT WASNT NEAR ENOUGH FOR CONTAMINATION..CAUSE THE ISLANDERS HAVE NO CONSTANT AND MOST HAVE BEEN CONTAMINATED.
YOU GOT YOU DES EP.......IT WAS MIND BLOWING ,WASNT IT
If Charlie remembered Desmond and their encounter in London, he can change everything he's ever done after the London encounter, and maybe not have to die after all! Now that his conscience has been triggered by the hatch implosion, he could've had a flash to the past and remembered Desmond. That would be cool, if in the end, Mr Eko and Charlie and Libby (just from being in the hatch near the magnetism) and even Ana-Lucia, could come back. But, then again, they are already dead, and the whole show would start all over and have to be rewritten.
I've been kind of wonderign about that for a while now. All the people Hurley has seen now have been dead people. He didn't see dave agaun until Libby showed up and little did he know that Dave was her husband and he saw Dave when Libby was in the clinic with him. He had never seen him before - that we know of.
