I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."

That's a decent readon the epi KIL, but again it's just my taste in this is really being soured right now. not sure why even. Other than I really haven't enjoyed much of any of the epi's yet. Bits and pieces, but not a whole episode that has been really good for me.
why are we having difficulties with LOST this year? i think the writing style and focus has changed... what we had with flashbacks was an explanation of why theses characters became what they are... we know most of them now... and we want them to become a certain way...yet thet haven't. flashforwards are written from a different perspective.... what is becomes what could be... it's an expalanation of what will be based on what we know.... as humans we always want the best of futures in our fiction and the futures of these people is anything but that.how do we feel about them? disappointed? confused? not what we want?
then again... maybe i got it all wrong....... shame on me for my fallibility.....
i can't believe that none of you grabbed this next post!!! welcome back for another nite!!
Well, I know how I feel about this season thus far, but Snootch isn't into it. I'd already talked about what I thought of it so, I let him have his thoughts on it.
There were a few places that seemed a bit disjointed. Like when they introduced the four newbies. They threw in four flashbacks and then Naomi's along with them and that almost made it seemed on the verge of feeling scattered and all over the place. I'm not sure I liked the way they did that.
The one that has seemed the most well put together to me is The Economist. I flowed really well between flashbacks and on island and it made the on island very very chilling and somber.
Eggtown seemed a little forced. There's the conversation between Kate and Claire which was supposed to lead us into the big Tadaaa/WTC!! moment at the end, but it was almost contrived.
It was interesting how John was sleeping in Ben's bed, with the rails because Ben was in a wheelchair. It's like symbolism of sorts. Ben was in Johns bed because they were both sorely rejected by their dads and while Johns dad tried to kill him, Ben actually killed his dad. In essence, John did the same thing. And then Ben pretty much says he's crippled in a way. Made for nice symbology.
Also, I have had a sick feeling in my stomach every time John gives the people who came with him orders. Yes, orders when in the past, when they had Jack, he was the opposite. He gave people a choice and he was all about democracy with involving everyone. "It's a free island."
Now it's not a democracy ... but not a dictatorship? But John decides who stays and who gets kicked out of Eggtown? Like he's being groomed to be the next Ben. LIke he's in Ben's bed now.
" I want to have you under my own roof." But it's not John's roof ... it's Ben's.
hey everyone! i had a great day skiing today! lots of fun went down a few really hard runs and jumped a few jumps and flirted with a few cute guys it was a great day! and Joy and i wore my vampire capes while we were skiing it was so much fun, everyone was looking at us weird at first but after awhile they stopped staring and were asking where we got the capes and iff they could buy some nearby it was so funny! so we are going to ski in the capes again tomorrow, see what comments we get then
LL I'm just really wanting something more/different from this season. I honestly don't know quite what is is either. i've talked to a couple people here at work about the season so far also, and I always find myself being ok with what they are doing, and understanding to some extent where they want to go with the show, but still I'm always left feeling like for me it's missing something. I really wish that wasn't the case, but sadly it is.

Hey Lion how are you doing tonight?
season 2 moved slow with the intro to new people... and we hated it... this time they did all the new ones in the same show.... this season tho seems to be... dumbed down? made so that the mediocre masses can follow it?? it's missing high brow writing and plots...
OK.. LL I think that you may have hit the nail on the head. it indeed has seemed dumbed down, and is feeling much more like it's pacing and storytelling is made or written by someone who writes for a soap opera. Last year was mainly about relationships, and the storytelling didn't falter, and still followed the feel that LOST has always had. this season I think they worried about loosing too many veiwers due to the long wait, and other shows in the same demographic (IE Heroes, Torchwood, and others) so they decided to "Mainstream" the writing for the masses, and have sort of left some of us fans left wanting. I know that Plinko is feeling even more to the left on this than I am.He's already figuring that if things aren't changed before the little break after the next couple epi's he's going to just pass on the rest of the season, watch it on DVD, and see if he cares enough to follow it past that.
Lion... As of right now I'm done with it, and leaving it un-opened. I can't run it alone, Chia has little time to put into it, and it would need a good deal of stuff added to make it run how I want. i may tinker with it off and on to see if I can get it reay, and then open it during the break or right befor the next part of this season. I really don't know if i want to deal with it though.
Hey Snootch! Not too much. I sold my car tonight. It's a good thing but kinda sad because I've had it since I was 21. Nice to have a little extra money though.

Why did you sell it? Need the money or just needed to get rid of it or what? I know how that goes though. back about 10 years ago I sold my car that I'd had for like 8 years. It wasn't the best, but it was the first one I bought all on my own.

It had broken down and I couldn't afford to fix it. I do need the money too, so it worked out pretty well. Someone saw it sitting on the street and offered to buy it "as is" for a decent price so that was cool.
