Thanks, Kate. My new mattress is awful. It's too firm and it's wrapped in this neoprene type thing and it squeaks like an aerobed every time I move.

Thanks. I wish I could, but I had no choice in getting the new mattress. (Comes from living in the dorms.) I so wish I could get the old one back. I'm starting to think the floor or my largely uncomfortable couch would be better than the mattress. Oh well.

isn't there anything you can do about it? could you take the neoprene wrapper off maybe? or add a few mattress covers? that might help

I've got a foam pad on it already and the neoprene thing is the only thing keeping the mattress' stuffings inside. I'll just have to deal with it, but I know I haven't been sleeping very well these last two nights since I got the mattress. I can't wait to go home and sleep on a real mattress for a few days. Thanks for your concern about the mattress.

I know how awful it is to sleep on a bed that's uncomfortable

I know how awful it is to sleep on a bed that's uncomfortable when do you get to go home?

I'm going down next Thursday. My brother, sister-in-law, and nephew will come that day as well. Her surgery is next Friday and she'll probably be in the hospital until Sunday morning. She's going to stay at my mom's until the following Sunday. I'll be there the whole time because we'll have her and my nephew and that's asking a lot for my mom to take care of both of them on her own. Not that it's a hassle, it's just that my nephew is a handful.
