They come: jacob, over  decades, invites people to the island and pulls the threads of their lives to move in a way that they end up there.. none has been by chance who has come to the island.
they fight: the human condition with greed/jealousy etc as the motivators.... we fight to get what is owed us instead of giving because it is needed.
they destroy: not only have our LOSTies and dharma destroyed the physical parts of the island, there has been little done to enhance each other's lives/souls
they corrupt: this could mean the individual chooses the ways of selfish desire and jealousy, or that they impact other people and the island thru their destructive behavior.

it always ends the same: i think this has been an on-going game that these two have been playing.... games have been a theme of LOST and here we have the ultimate! they have used the same playing field... the island .. but different players- black rock, danielle's crew, dharma, the LOSTies...desmond-  and more that we haven't seen. each round that has been played so far has 'ended' with the corruption of man.humankind brought to the island- with little twists and turns that have shown 'improvement'
it only ends once. anything that happens before that is progress: these little twists and turns show that humankind, as a whole, is less corrupt and becoming better toward each other. we are developing a 'kinder soul' toward each other.... showing more love, kindness, compassion, self-control and such in our lives..... we're getting better  and when we get it right..... the game ends
