It's obvious Kate's gonna go for Jack cause she likes Dr's.
I really like jack! I really don't like how they've turned him into a wuss second season. I want more edgy Jack back. More take charge and get things done Jack. Not ... ok, everybody manipulate me to get what you want Jack.
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
jack has a variety of layers to him... he does believe strongly in the power of science and does need proof as to why things happen the way they do... with people this isn't alwys possible and in this upcoming season. i think the writers may have him explore more of the faith side of his character thru the relationships he has... he may surprise us!!!
locke and jack may just trade places by the end of the year...
Season 3 will obviously start with him being in shackles ro something of that sort. But I don't think it'll last long at least for Jack. Due to the fact that he showed major amounts of compasion for Fenry when he was beiong held in the hatch. This will be found as a way to alow him some more freedom within the "Others" camp. LL I agree that this season will find him opening his eyes to things happening because they happen, and not because someone or something made it happen. I heaqr of him finding a "Love interest" outside of Kate, and this could be good for him and the show. Introduce more characters, and help him delve into what makes him work inside more. I'm hoping to find out what the deal with the tat's are, and what he did for the time after Sarah left him. Do we get to see who she left hi9m for?? Is it his dad like some want to believe? Or was it someone related to the story that has yet to be revieled?

i can see jack falling for the misinformation fed to him by henry and mistrusting locke even more... so that when the camp is united, this discord becomes even more apparent and more of a stumbling block toward progress... jack may fall for someone new becuz in a delusional state he thinks it is sarah... and julliette seduces him... desmond, as the bridge between locke and jack becomes an important character... his friendship with both will be interesting.... jack will return to the LOSTies... but may not be trustable jack anymore...
Does no one else find it unusual for a doctor to have tattoos?
I don't personally know a doctor but it strikes me that the type of person who undergoes that kind of rigorous training is not the kind to go out and get drawings put onto his/her body. They are too busy to bother with such things.
So, does your experience include doctors who have tattoos?
On another note, why do actors think it is a good idea to get a tattoo? They are supposed to be a blank slate so we can believe any character they wish to pour themselves into. Having a tattoo sort of limits the believability available for a great many characters. Less now than just several years ago, however.
He could have bene in the military for a small amount of time before he was a DR for one thing. My guess is perhaps Navy or Marines. If so, it did not turn out to be such a good experience which is why he has never thought about it or brought it up. Also, it takes a while for someone to become a DR. Lots of schooling. We don't know what kind of teenager and young adult he was either. Poeple do crazy things as teens and into their ealry twenties.
I'm on track with the thoughts that Jack's Tats are from a period of time after his divorce that he may have traveled a bit, and along the way did some soul searching. The tats represent things involved in that. As for knowing a Doc with them....not sure. I have a good sized one on my left arm that unless I'm wearing a tank (rarely happens) you would never know. It's a shield with a banner. In the banner is my wifes name. In the shield is my daughters name, and around the whole thing is the writing....EST SULARUS OTH MITHAS... It's from the dragonlance books, but it's meaning is still relevant to my life. It means "MY HONOR IS MY LIFE". My best friend also has the writing on his...a bond for brothers so to speak.
Don't think it likely that Jack would have gone into the military. With a head of surgery as a father I think Jack was squarely on the track of being a doctor from, like, the age of 0 with no off ramps.
Perhaps some sort of period of grief after the divorce but that still doesn't sound like Jack to me. He strikes me as the kind of get through anything kind of guy (even if he cries a lot) whose only real break from carrying on in spite of everything thrown at him has been the island. And even there he continues on.
Some sort of explanation for the good doctor's tattoos would be nice sometime.
And why do actors get those tattoos? Think of Cher up for a big part as a nun. Granted, a nun is not gonna show a lot of skin but for argument's sake let's say there is a scene requiring it. Oops, sorry Cher. This Academy Award winning part is not yours 'cause you got these huge tattoos that a nun would not have. There should be an actor's guide book that has a section on tattoos.

As the name shows. I'm a Jack fan. Not so much a Jater, but I'm really not a Skater. I'm looking forward to finding out who his dad's kid was in Australia, and why he needed to go back to see him/her?
See, nobody wanted to have faith in jack - he'll turn and join the others because they'll offer him something he can't refuse. But, have you guys ever dealed with pigheaded people?? When pigheaded people make up their minds, you won't change them. You can't break them.
And Jack is pigheaded and he's got more morals than half the people do in their little finger.

I agree that he did it for his friends, but not because of his morals. More out of loyalty. They (more so Kate) have followed him even when he wasn't always right. Sawyer knows that Jack deep down is a bit of what he wishes he could have become. Jack is a pigheaded person, but you aren't quite right with the thought that they can't be changed. I'm a perfect example. Up until I got together with Angie I was one that would never EVER bend when I thought that I was right in anything. As time has gone on, and I've looked at myself in the mirror on more than one occasion i've changed. All because Angie and Kala are in my life.
So my point in this is that even the most pig headed person can always run into one thing that will make them evaluate themselves, and make or at the least lead them on the path to change for the better.
Jack is the kind of man I would like to have met when I was in the running for men. He is a man true to his convictions and don't hurt his friends. He not only is an intelligent man, but has lots of common sense. They will get out of this and I don't think Jack will abandon our Losties for the chance to go home.

Oh almost forgot...he'll cry bunch also.
Alcoholism? Maybe it wasn't a 'someone' she left him for.
