Season 3 for him is going to see the touching ebrace of love between himself and Claire. Then at some point there will be a time when he snaps, and all hell breaks loose with him. He'll be the one involved in getting Aaron away from Claire if the "Others" are to get him away from her. His dark side was hinted at in the last 1/2 of the season last year, and I don't see that they would avoid that just cause he's a big draw for the show.
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
you know my thoughts on charlie... he is evil and has turned to the dark side... more and more he will manipulate and gain power only for himself... he is concerned only for himself... he will manipulate claire... locke... kate... easily with jin and sun... perhaps it will be hurley who exposes him.... but charlie may even take on and rival sawyer in his manipulations... he wants things his way or no way... if claire and aaron won't live with him, why should she keep aaron at all???
I don't know that it's even all about him wanting everything his way. I think it's more that he's tired of being pushed around, and not taken seriously. He'll turn to the dark side for the purpose of power yes, but only to show everyone that he isn't a little useless twit.
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
...but he is a useles little twit... will he find redemption??? will he become eko's little buddy?? the optimist wants him to... the realist looks at what he has done in season 2 and sees the manipulative, complaining, critical little twit that he is...
But then it seems that the island heals things. Shannon was a self centered prissy little beyotch, and then once she let that part go we got to see a more carring part of her....for a couple days at least. So it could be that he finds redemtion from his sins by way of Claire. Leaning on her to help him avoid the temptation of the drugs, and finally having a family with her and Aaron that he yearns for.

could be... but he is also a bossy litle twit who smothers claire and doesn't allow her to learn how to mother.. aaron must be raised by her... not by charlie... he will betray her... he is not a good person

And I hope that he is evil...I like dhim more that way. Less whining, and not such a panty waist. At least then you thought he was a man. If he does turn I hope that it's either Hurley or Locke that takes him down.

That very well could be. Seeign as how Ethan tried to hang him, and they are supposed to take the "Good" ones. That could have been a sign of things to come.

He does, but I think from his upbringing that's all he knows. Maybe a loving and carring relationship could put him to a NEW Charlie. I've heard of stranger things happening.
i will be hated for continuing to do this.. but if you rewatch season one and closely observe charlie... what he does and says... look beyond the smile and the cutsey grin... (doesn't sawyer do that too???) you will see a very different person...
yes, at one time charlie was the good boy... the church boy... put down by daddy, protected by mommy and probably all his life taken advantage of by his big brother... he never did have much self esteem but would cover this flaw with his grins and boyish charm... and usually get what he wanted... but he never really had a high opinion of women... his comments to kate...'i thought c's actually..' .........to shannon'..if you're going , i'm going too..' and his come-ons and put downs to claire... getting her to come to the caves because he wanted to be there... telling her she didn't know how to take care of a child... or herself... that she needed someone to care for her... his jealousies when anyone else tried to befriend her... almost like he wanted to possess her... all with the good intentions of caring for her...but very misguided and overbearing... building himself instead of her... turning on anyone who got in his way of her... and filled with revenge when she tossed him out... like any con-man, he gets back in her good graces... but for a good purpose or for more revenge?? the pessimist will look at his behavior and say revenge... the optimist will say he cares...
charlie was someone so hooked on drugs that he resorted to theft and seduction to get what he wanted... i don't think there is much of a change in him in his relationship with claire... or any of the LOSTies... even sober....
rewatch the charlie episodes and some of the other epis with charlie in them and see.... he's not who you think he is....
I love when Charlie threw all the mary statues filled with Cocaine into the ocean. When he volunteered to go in the cave to get Jack because everyone else had someone to take care of. How he rescued Nadia fron the burgukar and she called him a hero and how he could have gotten out of the looking glass but didn't because he believed it was the only way to guarantee rescue for Claire and Aaron.

Things I never understood about Charlie........When he jumped into the pool to his dad as a child,it appeared to me that his dad did not catch him, other post I read saw it as a poigant, bonding moment. What do you all think? I only saw it once, perhaps I saw it wrong. Also I never could reconcile how how such a seemingly, excuse me Charlie lovers, wimpy and ineffectual person could so decisively and easily kill Ethan in cold blood without a seconds hesitation. Of course by his final (?) actions,it would appear that he had changed completely from the Charlie that arrived on the island. What do you think?

Sometimes i think we see ourselves in these characters, other times we see someone we know or knew.
He should've never listened to his brother in the beginning and tried to please him. It's like he had to be washed clean again.
He made many major mistakes. He has a hard time making decisions. But in the end, he was brave and made the right one for once. (I have to add to this-He chose to give up drugs, he chose to rescue Jack, I'll think of more later)
Ethan was like pure evil, I guess he wanted to put an end to it once and for all. He decided pretty quick on that one. He didn't want another girl to get hurt, like he hurt them in the past. I hope that makes sense.
I loved him in the last epis and saw him as a hero then, but no so much before then.I loved him crossing himself. It was a beautiful death.(Maybe I cried too). I followed Lady over here from ABC, I don't know what the name change to Lostie means...I thought it was a promotion! I am not used to such a sophisticated site with signatures and avatars. I rarely even posted over there, so I am not an experienced poster. I think all the extras will make posting here fun and everyone has been very nice.

Well welcome! I just don't think anyone should start out noob. You can have whatever you want. Princess, Queen, whatever. And any banner, we'll show you how. Look in Snootches lab for banners, or anywhere, or request to have a special one made.

I thik his dad wanted to show him that he could do anything if he trusted the outcome. His dad did grab him afterwards.
