I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
the word is going around that rose won't survive season 3... maybe the producers do have something against females... killing off harmless old ladies now???
LL I read the same thing. Not only on the misfits page either. I've seen that she'll be done in rather early, but I've seen them saying due to her cancer. I have a problem thinking that she was not in terrible health before being on the island, and after having it "GONE" for the time on the island so far makes me wonder how in another 20 or so days they can have it take hold and kill her. Now I know it's an evil disease, but it seems wierd to me.

I have heard that she has other contract obligations to fullfill, so maybe the writers have very little choice but to kill her off, she can't just wander off somewhere and disappear.

If this does happen I think he may become a man possesed to find out what the island is all about, and he may even go to bigger extremes than even Locke would to get answers. After losing his wife I'd think he's the guy that will not quit till he gets an answer or dies (more likely) trying.

1. Because she had no physical proof or tangib;e proof that it was gone to begin with, only what she felt.
2. Cancer can come out of remission as quickly as it went in and knock you right in the teeth before you realize it. Especially if she doesn't have a DR. to detect anything.

I'm going to watch that again now. I'm posative that She told Bernard that she had cancer when they were in the reasturant, and he just asked her to marry him.

She had/has cancer. She'd been through treatment, she was taking meds for it - presciption meds. She had accepted it and had decided to live as long as the cancer allowed her to.
What I'm saying is, she has no proof that she was healed from it. Peoples minds do some crazy things! We don't know half of what we're capable of since we use what about 10 or 20 percent of our brainpower in a lifetime?
So, what I'm thinking is, she wanted it, and it was real for her, but she was never really healed of the cancer. It could have gone into remission and came back on as fast as it went to remission. Once it hits a vital organ, it can take you down really really fast! Especially if you don't have any doctors here to detect it. Many times the cancer is there with no symptoms and the person doesn't even know it.
I'm still in the thought that she was indeed healed....so long as the island was kept within it's little "snowglobe" of EM or whatever, and it was that stuff she knew made her feel better. (put it into remission/healed) There are tons of studies that have been done on the healing powers of magnetics. So it's very possible that their research in the EM was also responsible for that. They could have been using the button to not only keep the island hidden if that's what they are/were doing, but it could be that the level of energy being emmited by that made this a place of powerfull "Medicine for people like her and Locke.
We all seem to be hearing that she's a goner. Well I'd have to agree if it wasn't for the feeling that they intend on her playing the "Mother Hen" role a bit more. She would be the perfect one to help keep things calm when Hurley returns from the capture at the end of seas2. I can see her eaqting dirt by the end of the season, but not anytime near the begining. I also think that her death will come to make Bernard go the way of Dannielle and just go a huntin for the "others" even though they eill have nothing to do with it. He will do it more so because he will blame them for the plane coming down.
