I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
Just like with Dan. We got the pick of the litter. We get the good ones, and ABC and the rest get the leftovers.
then why can't this be shown more??? why can this be exploited so that kids make this their role models and strive to be intelligent, caring and creative??? the show makes these kids look like self-absorbed, sexually involved insolents who delight in disobeying mom and dad and will manipulate to get what they want... whatever happened to donna reed????
Isn't she dead?? Seems like it's all about the culture the way it is...and making shows to follow that. Like Jackass...I watch it, and laugh at it. But even as a young man I wouldn't have looked at a little kids "Big Wheel" and sai......OOOps never mind..I do remember now. I did infact have a few nights as a early teen that was all about the big whell races down the street in my neighborhood. But it still wasn't like we went out and were running around in thong underwear trying to annoy the people on the street. I fear it won't get any better either. With shows like the one you talk about LL..It'll only get worse. Until the networks look at it from a moral standpoint instead of a $$$$ view it'll stay the way it is. I unfortunately don't see them changing it either. The almighty $$$$ Is what's running those networks.

i am not part of the moral majority but i do believe in treating people with dignity and respect and upholding the values of brotherly love... love is too often melted down to nothing but sex and that is not the way it is... kids need to be taught that... love involves much work and forgiveness and acceptance... and more important than this is thr trust between people... we teach our children not to talk to strangers and to not trust and then we wonder why relationships don't last and people are so often after each other's possessions... i remember in the 80s when the corporation mindset started taking over the nation.. the ruthless 'me first and i don't care who i step on'... and humans can't survive that way... we need the trust.. we need the kindness and caring to evlve into what man is meant to be... not powerful but great...

One day I was riding the bus, and I said hi to this little girl who was sitting next to her mother .. she said "I'm not supposed to talk to strangers!"

Sounds like one of the rare cases that the parents are doing their jobs above the basic level. Makes us feel a bit odd when it happens, but you have to feel good knowing that some parents still get it, and teach their kids that.

this is exactly what i was talking about... don't talk to strangers... don't trust anyone you don't know... how do we get to know people??? last time i checked, by TALKING to them...

Well, I have to retract what I said about Eureka. After watching the 3rd show, I have decided it is very good and I am hooked. I watch 4400 and the Dead Zone and love both, and if Eureka stays as good, it will be added to my list of summer "to watch". I also watch The Closer. Not bad, but she is overdone in her attitude. She clearly is a "star" and the rest not. She has all the good lines, she does all the thinking and ordering around, and she solves all the cases. I don't watch any reality showm wrasslin, think you can dance or sing, etc. And I never did get into Dr. Who. For any SGI fans, Richard Dean Anderson is back on August 18th for their 200th show. I have stickys all over the place to remind me. The only new show that I know I will be adding will be Jericho. Some of the other new shows look like all the others. I like Ray Liota, but not sure that Smith is going to be a "goer". And please don't think I am a cynic or do nothing but beotch, but I am still angry with ABC over 3 of their cancellations.

jj... i was steaming too over abc's decision to pulll LOST... if they do it this week i may go into a rant that is deserving of the ban they gave me back when!!!
don't ever get me angry... you won't like me when i'm angry....
JJ...I just heard about my local boy Richard Dean being on the Aug 18th show. I'm so pumped to see him on the show again. I am a huge fan of Ben Browder, but Jack was and always will be the man. As for Eureka..I haven't been able to catch much of it. I have seen a bit of 2 epi's. I'm waiting for the inevitable (sci-fi always does) all day marathon to get caught up.

it should be said more often!!!!! you win the award this week for pick of the litter board member!!!!
Great news about Richard Dean Anderson. I have stickies all over the place reminding me. SGI just hasn't been the same. Browder is good, but RDA's humor just made the show more believable. Snootch, try to watch Eureka. And no lost on August 9th. ABC has cancelled another.

Well this Yank isn't like that. I had me some manly "I love you" moments this past weekend with some of my best friends...so a heart forom a very genuine gentleman such as yourself does nothing but honor me. I appreciate and reciprocate...

Thats Great, So many of our kin are so scared to so emotion or tell each other any kind of feelings.... it really makes me sad, and that's why i actually prefer female company 70% of the time!!! To me being able to say your wrong, Saying sorry, making mistakes right, being caring, crying(not all the time, but when its needed), and helping each other makes you far more of a man and the a better human being! Pitty i'm all but alone in this line of thought....

Dan this is a rare thing in this time...it's better than 20 years ago, but it's still something that's taught to the young kids that men aren't supposed to be like that. I love the fact that my mom showed me that it's OK to have a heart, and that in anything that I need to show emotion that it's ok.
