The "WHO" in question is the name of a show on Sci-Fi called..."Dr. Who" it's a BBC sci-fi show that's been running there for years, and last year they started carrying it over here.
Do I gather from preceding messages that the knowledge of Dr Who is not up to expert levels?
Well, neither is mine compared to some but just to note some points about the good Doctor.
Dr Who premiered in England the same day JFK was assassinated. Despite that ominous beginning the show went on continuously for some 25 years or so before getting a break in the mid 1980s or so. When the first actor wanted to leave the role the writers came up with the idea of regeneration where the Doctor would regenerate in a new body and persona. So, not only did he look differently but he also acted differently. There have been something like 10 or 12 Doctors so far. By way of the TARDIS (Time and Relative Dimensions in Space) he can go anywhere and anytime. The TARDIS is stuck camouflaged as an English Police Call Box (telephone booth) but is huge inside. And there is always a companion so the Doctor can explain things to (as in you the audience). In the 60's there was a craze for the Doctor's arch enemies, the Daleks. These are essentially garbage cans on wheels/treads/levitation but they are lovable in their evilness ("Exterminate, exterminate!")
There is a whole bunch more but too long to write about. The Xmas Tree reference was to the current Doctor and his friends being attacked by a Xmas Tree under the control of aliens intent on taking over good ol' Earth but realizing they had to take out the Doctor first. Think Xmas Tree = chainsaw.

Thanks! I needed that! LOL (Never watched Dr. Who.)

"Regenerated" - different body and personality but same being. Yeah, sounds like reincarnated alright except he retains all past memories. And, as a Time Lord with the TARDIS he can show up anywhere or anywhen in the universe. The series on SciFi appears to have him very much locked in to being on Earth. Previous versions have had him on other planets and civilizations much more frequently.
Trivia: Peter Cushing, who played Grand Moff Tarkin in charge of the Star Wars Death Star, played the Doctor in two movie versions in the 60's. And the fact there were movies is indicative of how wildly popular it was in England at that time.

Here's a bit of randomness . . .
I bought 6 bronze butterflies for my Christmas Tree!!!
No aliens, please. (That means you Bob & your Roswell friends.)
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
Caught the 2nd Epi of "the nine" last night. It's getting interesting. I'm wondering what they are really diong at times, but it's still very good, and could really become a great show if the chaqracters keep growing like they are now.
I've been seeing the promos for "daybreak" (the damn show that's taking the spot of LOST during the break)...I can't say I'm not interested, but I'm wondering how far they can carry a show that's basically the movie "Groundhogs Day" with a bit of action and intrigue instead of humor.

Going back to my list of old favorites in the Top 10 list, I left off a whole bunch that could easily be included in any top 10 i generate depending on my mood at the time that I generate it - like Rat Patrol and Dragnet etc, or from my time in England; Sweeney Todd or Coupling and 3-2-1, Billiards, Wimbleton, etc.
