Im shocked to hear this news. Truly is a sad day.

Volts was a very nice man who watched out for all of us treehousers. He was interested in weather, and made it a point to let us know if we were in danger of any severe weather approaching. He also had a great sense of humor, starting the nickname "Smootch" for Snootch. He liked to read and made great suggestions about authors and where to find the best deals on books. He will be missed.

My prayers go out to his family.

I am so sorry to hear of the great loss of V&A. I did enjoy reading his posts. I don't think we hardly ever interacted - but he seemed to be a nice man. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family at this difficult time.

Volts was the consumate lurker in most places. BUT.if it was a subject he was knowledgeable about he would get into the details that others wouldn't.

I'm so sad to hear this news. Volts was one of those crusty old dudes like my grandpa: plain-spoken, blunt, honest to a fault, humorous, smart as a whip. His technical knowledge was amazing, and his ability to communicate it with us nontech types was much appreciated. He did not suffer fools gladly, which made him one of the few sane voices on the 'other' board. We'll miss him.

Yet again I couldn't have said it better. Thanks GG for saying it so well. I only "spoke" to him a few times, but read his posts often and he was wonderful. Now my mom has someone to watch season 3 with :).

Volts was a very, very great man!!!! He had a wonderful sense of humor and a very quick wit. He was one of the nicest people that I have ever met. He was always very helpful to anyone that needed help and he was always nice to everyone on here. We owe he much thanks for all of his help and his kindness!!!!!!

Thank you, Snootch, for doing this. He will be missed. I wish somehow we had been able to archive some of his humorous posts from the ABC board. I love a dry sense of humor and he was so smart.
