Ok, in Jericho, I get the feeling that the "bad" son is not as bad as he is made out to be. I think he was off for some noble reason and he's not saying. His mother told him he should tell his father what the money he asked for was really for and then he would understand, but he refused. I think there's more about him we don't know.
I can never remember characters names in the beginning, but the Ex-cop guy seems a bit shady to me. And I an't figure out if he is Jericho's Locke or Sayid what with him knowing so much of what's going on and then being so good with electronics and junk. Did it actually show what the morse code message said?

Yes, he is the mayor's competitor for leadership in the town. He was also running for mayor and was the one punched by the mayor. He also is one of those traveling to see what is left.
I think the situation in regard to the guy that died is that he did have a heart attack but the burden on the guys who took him in the back room is that they did not try to get help to resussitate (spelling) him. One guy is taking it really bad and may suicide while Gray doesn't mind.
No, I do not have a clue in regard to Morse code other than I know it is short and longer sounds.
And ex-cop guy is definitely not an ex-cop. He identified the broadcast as being Mandarin Chinese. Unknown if they attacked or are just reporting.
And I guess the Wal-Mart train will be pulling in. But what is it that is not on the train? They really have to start thinking that whatever they use is not being replaced.
Spooky line of the week:
"What's this?" while looking at soot on their hand.
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."

These folks really gotta start thinkin' that the Exxon tanker truck is not gonna pull up anytime soon.
And how 'bout the fact that the money they are spendin' hangin' out in the bar isn't worth anything?
As far as disease and accident potential, nothing has really changed. But that clinic is jumpin'. What's the story? It's Doomsday so everyone decides to go in for a checkup?
Well, it's been like four days since the blasts. Hospitals have patients every day. Like that baby was in there before the bombing. As I'm certain others were too. We'll see alot of the hospital because that's where the mayors son's "wife" works.
Does anyone else think the bombing was from the inside? Someone within the country instigated it somehow?

But this clinic is packed with people everywhere. But you are correct in that it has to be a focus since the doctor/wife is there.
An inside job would be horrible but is consistent with St Louis guy knowing about it. That would be some big conspiracy.

this show does keep getting better..,.. it should be interesting to see how these seemingly civilized people learn to deal with life without electric power and modern amenities... and learn to survive the way the pioneers did... almost like regressing a show rather than progress...
The power is now definitely out, right? How are they getting water? If it's a personal well then it needs electric to pump it up. If it's the town water then an electricity probably powered the pump used by the town to get it up to the municipal storage tank which also provides the means to deliver it to houses via gravity.

and given current hostilities and stressed relations with other countries .... I think it'd be a better way to go rather than to point the finger and make some other country the bad guy and cause a potential priblem in the real world.

this series will definitely have to get to the point where the amenities of life are gone... they did one good thing in this last epi when the townspeople bannded together and went to help harvest the corn... that was good to see... i would hope that in small towns things like that would happen rather than... every man for himself....

who done it? how widespread is it? will the government be reformed before these communities collapse???
Gotta wonder what he's been doin' for the last 8 weeks. Scavenging in abandoned houses for food with the rest of the bedraggled survivors? Of course, half of the episode was there to set it up for his reappearance. Jake and the blond girl start renewing the sparks and in walks the thought dead fiance.

I'm so ost on this show the last one I saw was when the mayors son and the "police " guy with the questionable past put out the fire at that house. Oh, and his daughter wne to some party she wasn't supposed to.

Jericho is one of the most ancient human habitations. The most ancient human remains were found in it, some of which go back to 5000 years B.C. Others believe that these remains go back to 7000 years B.C. The most recent opinion on this subject is that they date back to 8000 years B.C.
The site of ancient Jericho is half a kilometre away from modern Jericho at a depth of 820 feet ( 250 metres) below sea level. It lies at latitude 31 52 degrees north and longitude 35 39 degrees east.
The evidence indicating that it is one of the most ancient cities in the world is borne up by a series of excavations made at " Tall as-Sultan ", which is oval in shape, formed by the successive accumulation of ruins with the passing of time. Excavations have been continuing successively since the middle of the nineteenth century up till now.
I hate to knit pick but...
Between 450,000. and 200,000 years ago.
H. erectus evolved into H. sapiens. The early homo sapiens, though of the same species as ourselves, differed in appearance from modern humans. The oldest homo sapien fossil is a 400,000-450,000 year old fossil occipital bone from the base of a skull found in Hungary. The fossil was associated with fire and stone tools. Although the skull had a crest at the outer neckline like H. erectus, the shape was otherwise essentially modern.

Jordan, I love ya to death - but Evolution is not even a Hypothosis at best. It has never been proven. And the person to get it taught in schools did so by using the example of a part of a skeletal remains from what turned out to be a pig.
