LL, I'm not here to give my views on world events and politics... I'd offend far too many people on here, and thats the last thing i want to do! However i do have very strong and firm beliefs and convictions about America, UK, And Australia and how they are conducting themselves in terms of their own people and international affairs!
dan i think you wil like this show.. but i wonder, with a topic like this for a show, what does it say about the state of affairs in the world today??? are we back to being suspicious and non-trusting of each other? ready to protect ourselves before trying to uncover the mysteries of life???
much more to this than what is on the surface...
I think that a lot of people believe that periods of war and conflict are what interrupt the normal reign of peace. If you give it more thought then you might come to the conclusion that peace is what interrupts the normal reign of war and conflict.
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
gray... i think you are right.. if we add the times of peace i am not even sure it would come to a full year... what does that say about humanity?? can't we all just get along??
Right, well i've seen the pilot and the second Ep now... and i must say i don't think i'm going to be watching anymore! Far too 'American' for my liking.... Hard to explain what i mean by that, but i think there has been a big lack of thought in a number of issues involving this show, simple.. basic things that if i kept watching would just annoy me more and more! There are too many other great show's on tv right now that are Original and special, this i feel is far tooo much like alot of other show's around right now!!! Thats my thoughts guys, i know you feel differently and if your still really into it come the end of the end of the first season the i might pick up the DVD and have another go... but this was a miss for me....
I now will start to lean in the dirrection as Dan. I caught some of epi 2...not what I would have liked to see. i'm goign to re-watch the whole thing to see if it sits better with me, but I'm not sure it will.

I've seen about 4 or 5 of the big 'new' show's this season... and i must say i won't go back and watch any of them again... I think this will be a year for sticking with the greats, like LOST..Prison Break..Greys Anatomy..Extra's..Weeds..some reruns of old shows and FOOTBALL!!!
I think I'm going to be splitting that idea up.. I like "heroes" and I'm really thinking "the Nine" could be interesting also. but for the most part it's going to be Lost, Family guy, House (thanks to my wife) and maybe the occasional CSI.. I have heard that they are going in the dirrection of a seriel killer that they will work and chase all season.... that wouls peek my interest in a show I've sort of given up on.

not at all!! we always can appreciate a good bunch of beefcake!!!
Yeah, he's a hottie, but he hasn't done a lot of movies and what not.... I liked him in that Hallmark movie he did with Keri Russell.... Miracle of Ordinary Days or something like that...

And I am an example of how the networks can determine after one or two shows that they will stay with it for a while. Have no interest in Heroes at all and did not watch the second episode last night. Since that is the second night for the show the drop or increase in the audience will be examined closely. If the drop was huge then the show is in trouble. If no drop or increase then it is doing well.
I think someone referred to Jericho as the same old stuff. However, I do not recall nuclear disaster being the premise for a show before. But if it falls into love triangles and teenage angst then, yeah, it will be the same old stuff. Still don't see how they can keep this goin' for several years.

Oh, no you don't!! You can't bail on me. You're half the reason I started watching this show. Who else will I talk to about it during the day after the show!!!!!

Did I just say "The Day After" . . . ?!
I'm still watchin'! But hoping it does not devolve. However, I did not catch it but someone elsewhere noted that the Mayor's good sun was smoochin' with the barkeep and then a nurse was referred to as his wife. No! Don't go that route!
And I'm thinkin' the bad son was in prison for 5 years. But maybe that is too obvious a conclusion based on the father saying something like: "After all you put this family through" and him not wanting to say where he was.

Or . . . just maybe, he was taken hostage BY MESSAGE BOARDS MANIA. No one has seen or heard from him in 5 years!!!

any good show that keeps people coming back is about relationships... eureka has that, LOST certainly does and it looks as tho jericho can head that way... if it does... it's a hit... heroes seems to lack this....

Hmmmmm. I don't see a Heroes thread here. Good! 'Cause I stopped watchin' it already. Only watched the first one because one of my kids wanted me to tape it. I have no interest in comic book (or comic book like) based TV shows or movies. Except for Batman. But then he does not have superpowers.

Well I sat down this am before getting to bed, and I watched the 2nd Epi of Heroes.....still on th fence here. I want to like it so badly. I lo9ve some of the base work and ideas, but the way they are putting it together seems like they are trying really hard to make a "LOST" style (in the way they show the characters) show with a X-Men feel. I love the Chinese guy and his power is interesting, and I'e actually heard of people that suposedly have the power of future sight that are artists like the guy who does those paintings. I'll give it another week or two to see if it can pick up some speed, and really get this working.

Gray, was there a character named "Gray" in the show? Sometimes s/n's just seem to pop into everyday life . . .
Now here's the strangest example of that I've ever cmoe across. The senior beauty advisor had me to this rinky dinly little revision on the makeup wall. It was nothing, and she's really very good at doing nothing so why it was a problem for her, I don't know. Anyway, it was in the section of this cover girl brand which Queen Latifah is the spokesperson for. It's called Queen. And the color is purple Well, it gets weirder. I was putting some mascara up on a peg and I saw a section that had some mascara named LionQueen! And right behind it was a five dollar bill! That was just crazy! But I put the five in my pocket
