I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
haven't we said that about the LOSTies??? will they begin to trust more and tell each other more??? will the loop be stronger and become the real coconut telegraph??? will there be more than a 'need to know' attitude amongst the LOSTies...???
will this add to how they rescue jack, kate and sawyer?

i'm thinking Ben is talking about himself, like he's the con man and he wants to see if Sawyer can outsmart him or something..
see??? ben could be the real sawyer!!!
isn't there a bit of con man in all of us?? that desire to outdo the next guy?? to get it all... it is that little sin of greed that is such a part of humanity... add some vanity and .. oh!!! that's charlie!!

I think they're both just really smart.
I like Dominic. I hope his character does something good.

dom said he toook this role becus it was very different from his role as a hobbit and he wanted to show another side to his acting... i think he knows what a dark charaCter this can be and will slowly unveil this... it will only show us his acting ability... he is a good guy... but his character is not...
In Locke's flashbacks he keeps going from bad to worse.not his character-his situations)The only good person was Helen.
Aisha just told me that I said a long time ago ( probably why I don't remember ) that if they'd just let Sawyer down there with fake Henry in the Hatch, he'd probably have figured him out as a con man.

He is a great actor! I have his early stuff when he was just a teenager. Hetty Wainthropp Investigates. He's so natural and relaxed, and Patricia Routledge is a great actress!
locke's comment to charlie...'bad things happen to people who hang out with me...' wonder what more this means... we know about ethan and boone's deaths... were there more???
helen perhaps??? his father? this willl be interesting to watch unfold...
Now that was something I'd expect Hurley to say. but what I truly saw in Locke last night was him finally realizing that in his striving to find the things that he has so longed and thirsted for, because of his idealism and grabbing onto something so tightly that he can't see anything else, he has hurt others and brought danger to them. I think this is a very responsible attititude. For him to see it and admit it shows strength and also growth in him. I was very proud of him for that.
LionQueen wrote: That's because we haven't gotten to the eppy where they do that yet. But Claire is supposed to catch them in Jacks tent.
I'm hoping that was one of the false spoilers because the spoiler I read said it was supposed to happen in episode 3. There have been a couple of other spoilers that were supposed to happen in the first 2 episodes that didn't. I just don't see the point of it if it does happen.
Also, about the previews for next week, I hope they're like the other previews where they aren't what they seem. They always like to fool us like that with the editing. Is next week supposed to be Sawyer-centric? Maybe that has something to do with the torturing or whatever they are going to do to him.
Ok, I have two predictions for next week. Well, one is not necessarily for next week, but from this eppy.
1. Desmond was half truthing it when he told Hurley he woke up like that in the jungle. he did wake up like that, but not before the implosion took him a ways into the future and then back again. Which is why he stood and threw rocks practically ignoring Locke and the whole speech thing. He already knew what was going to be said. I wonder what else he knows now?
2. Benry is seeting up this whole sawyer torture session for Jacks benifit and not kate. He doesn't care who Kate has a thing for. The point is, he needs Jack. He has some plan for jack, so he has to snuff out every reason that Jack would have to reject any offers or pleas. By jack standing there hearing Kate say she loves Saywer, it's like having him see that he has no hope for A Jate union. It will cause him to feel that he has nothing to go back to. Benry is counting on it driving Jack to accept any offers they make to him.

Of course we thought the officer was going to be killed by Locke and that was one of the bad things happening to people that hang with him was all about. We all would be deeply disappointed in him if that actually happened and we breathed a sigh of relief when he did not fire.
However, whatever the officer was able to learn would only have reinforced whatever knowledge the authorities had to start the investigation in the first place. Ultimately, the commune would be shut down and some or all of the members prosecuted and the "family" dispersed.
I thought we were going to see a Waco situation and the whole place under siege ending in a fiery and deadly conclusion.

by: slendrfury (5 Posts in the last 90 days) Registered: Dec 16, 2004 I think the positioning and role that each Survivor and Ben play in Locke's dream is important:
Ben: running security and determining who gets through - as if he (and The Others) is the gatekeeper in deciding who makes it through to his side of the fence.
Jack: The only one who just about makes it through security - he's passing through the metal detector, with his back to the Survivors, when we see him. Suggests that he may be closest to be swept in to the world of the Others.
Kate/Sawyer - the only other Survivors in Ben's security line. They too have been selected for potential "escape" to Ben's side, but they're further behind than Jack.
Desmond: He's a pilot, and "flies above" all the other Others and Survivors in the airport (and on the Island). He (pilot) ultimately delivers the travelers where they need/want to go - perhaps (as Desmond) inadvertently by bringing Pen Widmore and her motivated quest to find him (and by extension, the rest of the folks)
Hurley: Working an airline counter. He's not with the Others (Ben and security), and may have a role on the island slightly askew compared to the rest of the Survivors, given his intimate connection with the Numbers (and his unique personality)
Mr. Eko: presumable the only one "upstairs" - his faith and his relationship to God puts him on a "higher plane" (double pun not intended)
The other survivors (Claire/Charlie/Turnip, Sayid/Jin/Sun) are still in airport limbo, either waiting in line, or still mulling around - we don't yet know how things will turn out for them.
And it goes along with the things we know about the show. They put some stuff in to lead us off course, but big things like this scene have a much bigger value to the overall mystery.

I hope we meet Frogurt and there's a bald Lostie that's kinda cute.. lol
I posted this on ABC... I saw a significance of Locke building his sweat lodge in the middle of Eko's church: a symbolism of Eko's strong Christian faith encompassing Locke's spiritual (some would say 'pagan') faith in the island. Someone replied that Locke may have seen Eko's church as sacred ground...

Has anyone here ever been in a sweat lodge?
that was one of the observations i missed posting... thanks smitty!! haven't been in a swaet lodge but i did read carlos castenada... odd experiences tho will reading..as they say will happen!!
I've seen a few things on the sweat lodges, and I've always thought it would be an interesting thing to tryu. I mean if there is a chance to open yourelf up, and see things that your minds eye will only open in that way. Wouldn't it be cool to see what your mind has that you yourself don't even know?
And I think that there is something to the idea that EKO's church being sacred ground is possible, but I wouldn't think that would have been the case yet. When he was last working on it there wasn't much there and Charlie had done some without him. For it to be sacred ground wouldn't Eko have had to bless the structure or the land at the very least?
Desmond_Pen wrote: Maybe it represented community. I noticed the one at the commune was right out in the open. Shoudn't it be in a private secluded area? Then his vision was all about people.
My understanding about the sweat lodges of old. They were used by anyone, but many native american tribes would also use it to hold group sittings. Where it was the leadeers of the tribe in the lodge looking to see what they should do in a certain situation like if they knew an attack was coming or if they were having trouble finding food.
Wow thanks DES...maybe I should have one put up out back so when one of the treehouse peeps need some place to go think about things they'll have a place to go.
I just re-watched Two For The Road and Ben says almost the exact same thing to Locke that Eddie said: 'you're one of the good guys, i came looking for you..' along that line of thought... Locke should be freaking out with all the deja vu he has on that island! lol
lockesladyness wrote: i loved how they started this epi... the eye... the pullback to the treetops...the rustling bushes... who else expected to see vincent??? did he morph into desmond this time???
Yes! I expected to see Vincent too. I wonder where he is? I'm confused because on the DVD behind the scenes in the making of the last episode, they show Vincent taking off on the boat with Michael and Walt but I don't remember him being with them in the actual episode. Maybe they are going to use him in a future episode where he'll show up again and the Losties will figure that Michael and Walt really didn't make it off the island.
Did Hurley mention Michael and Walt when he got back to camp? I don't remember if he told anyone that they got to go home?
