The staement by John is a sign of things to come for him. It's going to end up with one of two things happening to him at some point. Maybe not even this season, but it will happen. He'll either get killed doing something he shouldn't (don't tell me wgat I can't do)

He'll be joining the others. I think that this is much more feasable. He's been in search of stabiliy, and a family. He was happy with the Pot Farmers being his surogate family...so why not a group that is much less apt to get you arrested, and also they seem to be stable (even if a bit twisted) community.
NOw that I could believe over someone like Jack. People like Jack and Sayid are stubborn headed strong willed people - especially people like Jack for sure. You can offer him whatever you want on a silver plater and if he doesn't want it, you are NOT going to change his mind.
Locke on the other hand has proven that someone as crafty as Benry can get into his head and make him question everything. All Ben has to do is play on his emotional side, on that part of him that so badly needs to be needed, to feel important - useful - loved, cared for - to belong. Locke is an idealist. A dreamer. I recognize him because I se alot of him in myself. I also see alot of Jack in myself too. I can be one stubborn A@#@$ woman sometimes !
Anyhoo, Henry I think does have the ability to tist it around so elequently and appeal to that side of Locke. I think thoguht that he'd first have to address the feelings of betrayal. I'm sure Locke is pretty steamed now that he knows Henry was lying about pushing the button.

locke is also loyal... he may be searhuing for a family but with the LOSTies he has one... and, if yoiu look at some of his statements about family, he remains loyal as long as they remain together... as the LOSTies will... and locke will also remain with them.... he will not betrray them because he knows the heartbreak this brings after experiencing it with his own father... and probably with helen...

I actaully agree with his loyalty, but he's also wise enough to know that the only reason he has the Losties as a family still is because they haven't found a way to get off the island. He might just see the Others as a chance to get a solid place to stay for the long haul.
