I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
good epi!! desmond is superb and just gets better looking all the time.... do you think the 5-iron survived the lightening strike???
the look on charlie's face was pricelesss... maybe now he will stop trying to be claire's protector and savior and allow her some growth... if she moves toward des... what an interesting concept!!! his intuitive powers and aaron... where can that go???
i have so many questions i don't know where to begin....
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
jack watching cartoons... what cartoon was that... fantasia??? looney tunes?? why is that what he has to do??? are they rebuilding him from childhood... giving him a childhood he never had.... even better was the way he became subserviant and went to the corner when juliet knocked... that's behavior modification at it's finest!!!
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
we happened... these people don't shoot each other...
our team.... and then every man for himself??? which way will sawyer go? he is full of conflicts right now... does he play on the team... win or lose... or does he just go off and do it all himself??? is he a team player? can he be??
optimist or pessimist... the answer you chose will show this...
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
first prison scene... you got to follow your hands and not your eyes...??? will that have more meaning in the time to come... or did it before the end of the epi???
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
ben's line in the end of the epi... 'the only thing we put inside you was doubt...' if a con man doubts he can't risk... if he can't risk... he can't con... if he can't con he can't live...
wait a minute.. isn't that just life in general??? compare this to locke doubting himself and making the mistake of imploding the hatch... doubt can freeze a person into non-movement... if we do not risk in our lives... if we forever play it safe... what do we miss??? what do we destroy... in ourselves.. our lives... what do we take away from others and how big of a black hole do we leave???
in behavior mod.. to instill fear or doubt in a subject is easy.. they proved this with sawyer... with his motivation being kate.... does she love him?? did she say it just to stop the beating? because she is concerned for others? she sure referenced jack quickly when sawyer asked about it.... we still have no answer o tis...
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
why allow jack to hear what is happening? what do they want to instill in him? concern? empathy? are they trying to make him question his leadership ability? his confidence??? ...because jack too is a confidence man but much different than sawyer...
jack at one point tells juliet.. 'i don't care about making you feel better...' is that also how he is as a doctor? unconcerned about the patient but only in proving his own ability?? ben did say that what they had for him was ...patience or patients???
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
so cassidy sent sawyer to jail, shows him a picture of a blue eyed baby and tells him it's him.... did she con him? or was she truthful? is she only out for herself... look at the teacher she had.....
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
juliet is a fertility doctor... that can explain the twins... why do they need the fertility doctor??? are they sterile? are there experiments of some sort going on? how laong have they been on this island????
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
still the question... why did ben show sawyer where they were? does he want sawyer to think that there is no escape? no way to get back... no way to be found if locke and company look for the 3 on the island? does he want to take away all hope or try to include sawyer in on the group? he instilled doubt... using his love for kate to destroy his confidence... 'it's when you start to care about them that they got you..???' is that what he told costanza?? someone check that and let me know please!!! the only way to gain a con's respect is to con him... ben also sez 'you work so hard to make her think you don't care...' is he working hard to make himself think this instead??
a guy gets too lonely and he gets sick... there's the sickness thing again... hmmm
how will locke and sayid find them if they don't have the boat? was the raft destroyed becuz it would have run into their island? this is our island? where does that fit in now? does the cable connect the two?
the dark territory... it becomes more intriguing now...
the food drop...could have come from the hydra station by air ballon or maybe lioni's catapult!
why did ben go to the big island to be captured?
we still need to know more about dharma...
this is going to be confusing and intriguing and tense!!!!
very interesting episode!!!!!!!!!! what is going on with Desmond? how can he how what is going to happen? why do the others need Sawyer? i can see why they need Jack(to save Ben) and Kate(to keep Sawyer and Jack from trying to esape(sp?)) but why Sawyer? this was one of the best episodes yet IMO

The Jack stuff was some of what stuck out to me tonight. I think they will continue to intill not only doubt or concern in him, but also bring about more of his curious side. Make him WANT to know what's going on. then he'll be more apt and underdtanding of what's going on when they do finally allow him into the deeper workings of their society.
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."

is the assumption that he can do something for them?? because i look at it the other way... what they can do for the LOSTies....
LL I agree with part of that. I think for some of them. Jack in particular they will be able to help him get over some of his issues. Tonight we got to see the first step in that. It wasn't planned, but worked in their favor. He tried to keep her alive, but in the past (with Charlie and Boone) We've seen him try to go regardless of it seeming hopeless. Now he is accepting the inevitable.

What I noticed that prolly noone else would. It's because I am such a Stephen King fan. I caught only parts of the show at work. I'm such a sneak
Actually, with this manager I did it blatantly and he didn't care.
Did I hear right ? The rabbit had an * on it;s back? I'm going to go watch the whole thing. If it was a BLUE 8 then that is just STINKING brilliant and EXPLICITELY a PRIVATE Joke between Abrams, the prod and Stephen King!!!!!
WHY? King wrote a book for aspiring writers. He offered a challenge in it. He described a cage sittign on a desk with a white rabbit sitting in it and a blue 8 painted on it's back. His challenge was to create a scenario to explain it. If this is the case then JJ met his challange and it was FRACKIN Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!
Now, I"m off to watch the whole shoe. I'll be back in a bit to discuss.
BTW, hope noone read my very latest chappy. The one I posted this afternoon in my boredom. I changed the ending. The last three or four paragraphs or so. It's extended just a little bit.

there was something in this epi where zeke or danny (pickett) is talking to ben saying ...'since that violet lite appeared in the sky our coms have been down and we can't contact anyone...' doesn't that say alot!!!

It was coming out of the intercom in Jack's cell. I am gathering that they may actually be cut off from the real world also now. Could this end up leading to either a complete shut down and destruction of the OTHERS way of life? Or is it going to lead to all of the people on the island having to help one another to not only try to get off the island, but for just basic survival?
We now know that they indeed can get aboard a boat or to the shore of an island without being noticed, and also stay nice and dry. They have a Submarine. OK...so now WTF??? I mean this is getting a bit strange. The only thing I can think is that it's one used to monitor and observe the shark research.
Well as much as we thought we were going to get the answer to the Skate vs Jate battle I see it wasn't. I feel that it is pretty much going to be skate (sorry jaters), but that's only becuase they are doing so very much to make them fight for one another. His trying to get her to run without him, and keeping his secret from here to keep her safe. Chivalry isn't dead...a bit askew, but not dead.
Kate going back into the cage to show her support for him, and the fact that she won't leave him. Again a huge sign of her loyalty.
The only thing that keeps it a battle at all is Kate using the Jack line from the past..."Live together, Die alone."

The sub was mentioned early on when they were finding out that the girl that had been shot was on her way, and needed help. It wasn't easy to catch, but after a rewind I did hear it clear.

If the Other's don't kill people, then what's with Ethan or whoever sneaking on the Island and killing someone when he didn't get Claire back? And why not just tell everyone why they're there? And why he tried to kill Charlie? What are the Other's so afraid of?

That's the whole point. She made her choice when she said that line. The whole time Sawyer is saying every man for hismelf. She retorts Live together die alone. She's chosen jack.
