The best investment is your friends.

Yes ... but freinds go in and out of your life. They have kids and husbands. We don't have any guarantees as to what we're going to have in the future. I spent a good part of my life waiting for some guy when I wasn't pining after my tragedies No guy came and I could have done so much more. I've got to live as if it's just going to be me.   And figure out how to  best prepare for when I can't work anymore.  Social Security isn't going to do it for me.

My oldest sister didn't have anyone until she was in her forties. My little sister isn't married either.

I'm not closing myself off to the idea. It's just that I have to grasp the fact that some people never do find anyone. I have an aunt who died of diabetes. She never married and she was I think in her 50's or 60's when she died.

We just don't know the future.

I've been trying to get myself thinking like that too... it's just so darn hard!

Things just more often than not, don't turn out the way we want them to. I can't think of anything significant that has, to be honest. A few things, like getting my position back in pharmacy.

I was supposed to be older and more financially secure when my mother grew old and needed care. She was supposed to just get old and then pass away naturally, not get ravaged by a horrible disease and get victimized by my a-h of a brother.

And don't get me wrong. I know that God is there. But God just doesn't go and hand us everything like spoiled little rich kids. We have to carve our way through. We have to take responsibility for ourselves. Not just expect God to take care of everything.

Yeah it's hard. I'm definitely not where I thought I would be in life at this age. Very frustrating.

I moved around a lot. I was never in one place. So I can't relate at all. I'm very fortunate and I know it.

You look beautiful! I love the color of your hair! Mine's getting gray, but my husband likes it. I want more red!

Grey can actually look very nice. I was surprised a few months ago when I decided to save some money and do a store bought color instead of salon and found it turned out better than when I used to do it.

I bought a reddish brown, but I haven't tried it yet. My tonsils are all swollen and I don't want to breath the fumes right now.

You can really see it well, but the pnedant I have on is a black onyx with I think a very small diamond setting. My mother gave it to me years ago. I consider it a family heirloom of sorts even though it's probably not worth much financially.

I think they've really made some improvements on the store bought hair dyes over the years. I wanted to get my hair cut but I just heard a couple of days ago that the place I have gone to burned down!

Yeah, I don't know how it happened. Hopefully I can find out where the hairdresser, who I know, has gone.
