OR, maybe somehow they already knew she was pregggers and were trying to take her like they did Claire?

OK...lion I'm playing off your last post here..What if they were trying to catch her, and Charlie actually saved her?? I mean it could have only taken him showing up..they could have heard him coming, and instead of having another confrontation they thought better of it.

It's possible. I dunno. hard to wrap your head around - huh? That could have happened. maybe they knocked Charlie out, is Charlie one of them? IT's all just so unending - the possibilities.

And even thought I see the pic and think of the possibilty, I keep thinking - why? What was the purpose of an other dragging Sun out ito the woods and leaving her ? Is that all they wanted to do ? Did Charlies presence scare them off ?? What was that all about ? Is this a hoax ? I don't know!

Well going with one of the things you said...what if he's part of the Others? Maybe during his lonely dark times he was contacted by them. In return for him helping them they could have maybe used some sort of shot to help him fight his addiction to herion. We don't know everything that they have researeched. So now his part of the deal is to get in tight with Claire again (he wanted to anyhow) and make it possible for them to at the very least keep an eye on Aaron.

See, that's the part I am certain he's very sincere about. He truly loves Claire in his needy little obsessive way. I understand some of his problems myself. He lived in the shadow of a drugged out brother who took advantage of him at all turns. He's a dreamer who dreamed of wonderful spectacular things. His love above everything - his music. It's been his child almost. The piano his dearest possession.

Anything that was his was taken away from him. he had no power. And when his brother completely took advantage of him, stole his thundaer. Took credit for his work, he still sat there and tried to help him get off the drugs.

Charlie has always needed to be needed. To feel whorthwhile. To feel accomplished. And like most artistic people he's needed to feel valued, acknowledged, seen, heard.

You see this in his background. He wanted his brother's respect. he wanted his brother to listen to him, to value his opinion, to credit him for his abilities and talents. To acknowledge him.

Instead his brother took everything that meant anything to him away. Sold his beloved piano which was his most treasured possession. His brother essentially spat on him and trashed everything dear to him.

And in that split second turning time, when his own selfworth hung in the balance, he became his brother. He became the self-centered drug abuser that his brother once was while his brother learned from his mistakes and finally came to be responsible for his family. His wife and child.

His friend, the one he buddied with in doing their own little cons was the only person in his life who appeared to even listen to him. THis encouraged his bad behaviour. If he could not get the acknowledgement and the attention the right way, then he got it this way.

In the beginning you saw it in the fact that he begged them to pay attention to him. Don't you recognize me? I'm a big rockstar ! I'm important! I heard you calling for Jack, but I"m Charlie. Remember me? Don't you care about me? Pay attention to me !

In Claire he found someone to take care of. She gave him the attention he so desperately needed. He found soemone who could depend on him. He also became his brother in that in his mind, that is his ready made family. His virtual wife and child. In his confused and painful mind, he has to hang onto it. He has to do anything to hold onto it because everything that he has ever had. Everything that belonged to him has been snatched out of his hands.

In his mind, he loves her. And he probably does, but he has never had love ... not ever. With one ecxeption - Lucy. She truly cared about him. She showed him a kindness that noone had ever shown him. She opened her heart to him. And that's hard for a girl like her to do. She knows she's not the most desirable and that there are people who have probably cut her down because she is average and doesn't fit the mold society has setup. But she believed that he accepted her and cared for her. She trusted him and he pretty much slapped her in the face.

He's got all of this under him. He has sincere honest intentions clouded by a frightened, injured child underneath. So, instead of letting go, he grabs on tighter and strangles what good that he does have. He thinks he's protecting it, but he's strangling the life out of it.

He would never betray Claire to the others. Not intentionally. He almost died for her. He killed for her.
