I hate to have to tell you guys but it is looked almost like a sure thing that Ecko is going to be the next Island Sacrifice.
First there's the promo vid after this weeks eppt. Looks like he attackes Locke and then he gets knifed or something. Then in his podcast he talks about how you don't know if you're characters going to die. It could just happen. And he's on Regis and Kelly Thursday morning after next weeks eppy.
So sad. I liked Ecko. I think he should have been a main player far into the show.
This was kinda neat - had to copy it... but I gave the poster credit..

Way back when Locke was doing the crossword puzzle in the hatch, the clue was "Enkidu's friend" - the answer is "Gilgamesh".
The epic of Gilgamesh was pre-Old Testament. Enkidu (pretty close to Eko) was a black "wild-man" sent by the gods to defeat Gilgamesh, but instead becomes his best friend. When Enkidu dies during one of G's quests, G freaks out at his death. In the end, he become a great leader and saves his people from a great flood (pre-Noah).
If they stick to the legend (as in the crossword clue), Eko will die and in remorse Locke will evolve into a great leader and saviour.
Got the avi - need to banner.....hmmm. I was working on somethingm but I'm just not good at it. everyone has their contributions - I think banner making won't be mine
I don't like it eaither. And I know everyones gonna be like .... well, Lion, you don't really know yet ..... but I am pretty confident. Yup, I could be wrong, but I have a very good gut feeling about it.

well i still hope that it isn't Eko who dies i was really thinking that it was going to be Sun
I cried, "Oh, Lady Midnight, I fear that you grow old, the stars eat your body and the wind makes you cold." "If we cry now," she said, "it will just be ignored."
please... change your avi until after this happens... if..... it happens... remember what they say about chickens and baskets... let the event happen before you mourn him....

10/25 - Next week, a major character (as in a series regular) whose name is not Sawyer will join Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia and Libby in the big island in the sky. And you're not going to believe who it is. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
This is reported on spoilerfix. Other websites mention the same thing. Nothing really refers to Eko. Although the actor who plays him is aparently going to be on Regis & Kelly the next day.....read into it what you will..
I really hope they don't kill him off. I'm hoping that because the spoiler says you won't believe who it is and the fact that they show Eko getting hurt in the previews, that it won't be him.
I was just reading that Adewale was arrested for a traffic violation last month. That would really suck if they killed him off after the other two were killed off after having traffic violations.

The thing is. The spoilers are saying someone major is getting killed off. He already made some vague allusion to it in the podcast. There;s the promo vid which I don't always put much stock in .... look at how this last one came out....
but the kicker is that he is ude on regis and kelly next Thursday. The spoilers said the dead lostie would be on Regis and kelly the next day. Now, it's true they could opull a fast one and schedule him but throw in the dead on as a surprise guest .... but I just got a feeling it's ecko. The tailies don't seem to be making it very long on this side of the island.

perhaps they are sending out another foiler as to who it is... but again... it hasn't happened yet so why start the mourning before the death???? it's also info that some of us may not want to have because it is TOO MUCH OF A SPOILER!!!!
knowing that someone will die may just be info enough....

I hope it's a foiler! I wish they wouldn't kill everybody off.
Actually I still want to see what he's really trying to do. Is he actually trying to turn a new leaf, and stay clean to do the whole family thing. I believe that his one major missing cog for his life is the feeling of family (yes like Locke) and he wants to feel needed. His family life from what we've seen is very rocky at best. I truely believe that he even wanted to give it a go with the young lady who he stole from for the drugs. At the time his addiction was stronger than he could control. Now we've seen him litarally THROW his habit away.
But if he does go...I'm not going to miss him.
I love when my posts make no sense, ans contradict themselves.

5. What would he do with the money from the medicine (?)

I agree with everything but the end. He got sucked into the world of druglording. He killed people during that time that had nothing to do with his brother. He did this because he protected his brother when he was a child. He got chosen instead of his brother and that's the road he wound up on by forces too difficult for him to buck against. But he chose to remain in it as long as he did. I thik he wanted to change and he battled himself to do so. But when he stood at that church and said he wasn't afraid of those men, he was being druglord Ecko. He was syaing I'm tougher than you - you don't know who you're dealing with. It was like a turf war. And he could have avoided that by playing their game and kept the people at the church safe while planning out what he would do about the druglords threatening them.

I'll give my responses in a list.
1. His life may have been going nowhere, but having to do that at his age had to have been tough. BTW...where are his parents? I'm htinking they were killed by one warlord or another.Or....maybe a sickness that the vaccine was for?
2. His willingness to give up his life for his brother was as selfless an act as I can think of outside of taking a bullet or something along those lines.
3. He wouldn't have ever taken food from Yemi's mouth. I think he would have eaten, but not until he knew that Yeami had ate his fill.
4. We do know he was on his way, but I'm thinking that maybe the church sent him to Aussie to work instead of in the UK.
5. The money I'm thinking was to help him get to the UK, and also to maybe help him live without having to work. I'm betting he had no ideea that he wouldn't need money since the church would supply what he'd need.
